Yeah, a friend of mine was ushering and she said no one said anything to her about it or anything. It was just one crazy night I guess and that wasn't at the forefront of everyone's mind.
WOW. What a show. How come nothing like this ever happened in SF? I guess that's our tradeoff for getting three companies. :) But I love understudies...and crazy combos are even better.
I saw Jake as Bob and thought he was really good, but more Tommy-like than Bob-like in sound and appearance. Nothing he could help, of course.
Coppola was one of my favorites when it came to the sit-down scene, although I'd have to agree that vocally the stamina isn't really there. (I'm sad that our reviews of when he went on in Sept got lost in the purge.)
Wow! I missed quite a bit.
Umm, basically, I think that's why I love swings.
Especially Jake Speck. No lie.
Not that I've SEEN him in many roles...but he was my first Bob Gaudio for the Chicago cast and he did do it for me. But yeah, he's my favorite swing.
I think he should get the best swing ever award for covering 2 tracks at one time. And doing an amazing job at both. That's crazy.
I finally got my Jersey Boys London Programme in the mail and it dawned on me that the "open fly" phenomenon might have been scripted also :)
I am not sure if this has been posted already but here is the transcript of the interview from the London Programme available at the Prince Edward.
Q. If you hadn't become a musician, what would you have done for a living?
A. I would have been a hairdresser, stayed in the neighbourhood and opened a little bar, or I would have gotten in trouble and been put away.
Q. What stage memory has you cringing with embarassment?
A. I was performing and all of a sudden realised my fly was open.
Q. What's the last theatrical performance you saw that you really loved?
A. Spring Awakening and Wicked.
Q. What's the last book you read?
A. I don't have a lot of time to read books these days, but I am always reading scripts, newspapers and watching news on television.
Q. And the last music you bought?
A. I'm always looking for jazz artists who are no longer with us, like Stan Kenton, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Frank Sinatra. I have almost every Frank Sinatra song ever recorded.
Q. What's your great online discovery?
A. The fact that I don't go online.
Q. What's your guiltiest pleasure?
A. Occasionally overeating.
Q. What's the best meal you've ever eaten?
A. I've had several wonderful meals, but the best were broiled langostino in LA and meatballs in New York. I can't say where because I don't want to start a war.
Q. What keeps you awake at night worrying?
A. I worry for the future of the children in the world and hope that we as adults wake up and realise the kind of place we're going to leave these kids and do something about it.
Q. What's the best present you've ever been givin?
A. My children are the best presents I've ever been given. Other than that, the best presents are those I have given myself.
Q. Which public figure is overrated?
A. There are so many, it's ridiculous.
Q. Who inspires you?
A. He already left the planet, but Frank Sinatra is a very, very important inspiration to me. Angelina Jolie, for her interest in children around the world; she really applies herself. Bono, who really uses his time working for peace in the world. And Tony Bennett, for his talent, which appeals to people of all ages.
Q. What would you do if you ruled the world?
A. I would try to bring peace and freedom to everyone.
Q. What are you working at the moment?
A. I'm always working on several things at once. I've got a jazz project, and I'm working on a vocal project that I want to produce with four of the guys who are currently in my band so I can help them create a career beyond Frankie Valli.

Bad news guys
I don't think I'll be going to Chris's last show. My mom has run into some health problems, so we most likely won't be able to travel to the theatre. Still trying though!
Thanks, Antonijan:)
She's going to the doctor later, so we'll find out exactly what is wrong.

Here's to Chris having a great final performance as Frankie. Wish I could be there to watch it.
jerseyboyschick2, Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope it's nothing serious.

Random, I know... but y'all know that Miles is going to Broadway, right?
NO I DID NOT. WHAT?! Is it because Donnie Kehr is going into Billy Elliott?
Aw, congrats to Miles! I always enjoyed his performance, both as Norm Waxman and the time I saw him as Bob Gaudio (his first performance)!

Miles is going to Broadway? cvrenthead where did you hear that because that came out of nowhere. I really enjoyed seeing him onstage and I think he deserves to go, so congrats Miles. So when is he leaving the tour? And if the Donnie Kehr being cast in Billy Elliot are true, I'm guessing he's replacing him.
So Chris and Holly Ann had their last shows yesterday. Miles is going to be leaving soon if he hasn't already. That leaves Taylor, Brandon, Joseph as the only original memebers of the touring cast left, unless they have plans on leaving too but they aren't widely known yet.
