Eh? Picking on Steve Gouveia's low notes? Of all the things to pick on in his performance (not that there are that many), THAT? I've seen all the principal Nicks in the US and he probably hit them the strongest of all. Weird.
(Also, they're cranking out the production photos kind of quickly. I'm surprised.)

I'm pretty sure the vocal doubling is part of the package. I seem to recall there being a bit of kerfuffle when it first came out re: John Lloyd Young, and it was stated that it was to more authentically capture the sound of Frankie Valli, whose voice was doubled (albeit by himself).
I believe that the Joe Pesci track, the Rapper/Barry Belson track and sometimes the girls do aid in voice doubling.

Melissa Strom mentioned it here: On top of that, we have people doubling backstage – Brandon [Matthieus] actually sings "My Boyfriend's Back" with us! We have Caren Cole, the woman who plays the piano, and Brandon, and then us three girls. So there are five singing voices in "My Boyfriend's Back". A lot of people don't know that either. For instance, all the girls double for Frankie, and a lot of stuff is going on backstage. You're changing costumes, you're changing your wig, you're thinking of your next line, but you have to sing for Frankie. So yes, we're very busy. Jersey Boys Newsletter from July 10

Thanks for posting, Lizzie. So, those actors not only have to sing, act, and play an instrument. They also have to be track and fielders running from stage to cellar in under 30 seconds? Whew! Reminds me of that scene in "Broadcast News" where the Joan Cusack character had to navigate hurdles of bodies, furniture and open drawers to get a tape to the anchor in time and keep the show going. I'm in complete awe of these people (doing I'm-not-worthy genuflections) Updated On: 6/24/08 at 11:49 AM
I'm not sure whether to laugh or groan at this headline. Either way, it's always pretty fun when the "alternative" papers try to review something mainstream.
