Feel free to use this anyone, I don't have a twitter but for some reason I just love this quote!
"I'd rather see a bad play, than a great movie."
-Joan Rivers
I think the League is going to have no choice but to at least address the backlash it's receiving over this.

I think Ms. St. Martin is taking a personal attack. What did Joan do? Spit in her face? Tell her she needed a new hairstyle?

Just like AEA AGMA SM, I too had neutral feelings about her. But, I am wondering if they aren't going to dim the lights for her, could it be more because of the bad taste she left with the Broadway league than anything else?
I wonder if they are going to justify dimming the lights for Williams because he was on Broadway much more recently that River's was.

I think you're mistaken, Jordan. The League is an entity unto itself, and has demonstrated time and time again how little they care about what other people think.
I don't think the personal attacks against Charlotte St Martin looks help the effort to have the lights dimmed for Joan, in fact, I think it solidifies their decision. So much of Rivers' career was about mocking others' looks, and I do believe that negativity factored in the decision to not have the lights dimmed for her. The honor is for those who are supportive, not those who tear down.
I don't think Robin Williams had anything to do with this, and I don't think the League will reverse its decision - and no way in hell is Charlotte St Martin stepping down over something as trivial as this.
Well, asking that she step down is ridiculous. But asking that she get her head out of her ass is not.
F*CK 'em.
Honestly if we petition or bully the League into dimming the lights with some media backlash, is it really still an honor?
Ha, maybe it's the Joan Rivers way!
I don't give a damn about Joan Rivers one way or the other, but the personal attacks on Charlotte St. Martin in this thread are completely uncalled for. Relax people- in the grand scheme of things, who really cares? It isn't as if Rivers hasn't been receiving a host of tributes from other sources. Let it go- or at the very least, dial back the rhetoric.
Lauren Bacall was not IMO synonymous with Broadway either, her film work was by far her greatest achievement. She also, by their standards, wasn't on Broadway recently. I guess a Tony win gets you the dim, but a nomination does not. I think someone is trying to make a name for themselves, albeit, a bad one! The important thing is to let the icon rest in peace. I do not agree with the decision at all, so I signed the petition!

Tag, I would say it would be even MORE of an honor since it's her fans who would have made it happen.

The League made the right call.
"Relax people- in the grand scheme of things, who really cares?"
Thank you. Jesus Christ. Get a life.
I liked Joan Rivers well enough and all, but I don't really think she needs the lights dimmed for her. However, there have been many others just as qualified that got the lights dimmed so they ought to to be fair. They shouldn't pick and choose but make exceptions all the time.
Thank you, Broadway World.com That's one classy logo you have up there right now. :)
Thank you, Broadway World.com! The logo is fantastic!
Thanks BroadwayWorld, the logo is classy with a capital C.
Wait, it has been longer then a minute! Favoritism!!!
Simply disgusting.
#dim4Joan
I wasn't a huge Joan fan, but I am becoming more and more appreciative of her after her death. The lights should absolutely be dimmed. I gladly signed the petition.
Cyndi Lauper just said - "Broadway should really dim the lights for Joan tomorrow night. No one has supported Broadway like Joan did, and we love her so much"
