and luvs + everyone .. it's nice to see that other people share the same raul obsession that i annoying my friends with daily! i've been a big fan of ttb & i loved him in taboo, but after seeing the normal heart-- i'm just so amazed..
he is so damn sexy & talented. i can't believe it.
... and i was wondering what the E stood for as well.

suzy, thank you, and glad to hear that Wicked_Elphie and I aren't the only ones who ponder such strange things.

Wicked_Elphie, I was hoping the same (obviously, lol) but come on... what were the chances? lol... we can still use that (and I fully intend to). That makes the sexy name even sexier, don't you agree?

And finally, to Robyn, thanks for finding that for me!! That's the sweetest thing. Ever. You mentioned a necklace or something? When we met him, he was wearing something with an "N" (don't ask why I remember this.... I'm just a loser when it comes to details) could that be it? I remember thinking it was sort of a random letter for him to be wearing... Or I guess maybe you were thinking of that handkerchief mentioned in the article...

I think I should start paying attention to actual things, and allow this thread to die already. But then we wouldn't be able to share the Raul love, and that would be sad. I love Raul! And I think I'm going to go call Wicked_Elphie now....

Let's all cross our fingers for him tomorrow at the Tonys!! My house is NOT going to be a happy place to be if he loses tomorrow night.

I *think* it was an article from the Miami Herald from a while back (ttB days) - it was a good article too - showed alot of his soul - he talks about how his grandma saw him perform in RHS for the first time and how she passed away not too long after that. I believe he also mentions that he wears something of his grandfathers on a daily basis (a necklace or ring or something like that) - Geesh - I wish I could find it! I looked on RaulEsparza.com but the one that I think it is comes up as an error reading when I click on it. : ( I'll keep searching! : )

FYI everyone: I read a pre-Tony article in one of the NY papers yesterday and they said that Raul is a shoe-in for supporting actor! Let's keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow night! I'm sure our screams of joy will be heard all over if he gets it! :)

the tonys aren't going on for another 6 or so hours, but i have rent and taboo blasting AND my fingers and toes crossed for daphne rubin-vega and my (should i say "our"? lol) raul.

haha, yes please... "our" is an agreeable term. We can share!! There's plenty of Mr. Esparza to go around. I put on the A&E Breakfast With the Arts pre-Tony program on this morning, and Raul's face was one of the first things I saw when I woke up. VERY nice. Then I put on Taboo, and listened to "Petrified" like three times in a row, as if that's going to bring him some sort of luck... lol. Then I played Avenue Q because they've got to win something tonight, and now I'm back to Raul and playing Tick, Tick.... BOOM!

I'm going to start crossing both my fingers and my toes right now. I have 5 hours and 48 minutes 'til showtime.

Oh, and Robyn... I heart your new icon. Wicked_Elphie, yours too, but I already told you that.

great review, i wanna see this bad cause its supposed to be very meaningful, and according to your review it is. the subject is a touchy one, so im glad its getting good reviews.

i have to go to a cd signing sometime soon, i think it would be amazing, great review and experience again, loved to read about it. :-d

Well, less than an hour and a half till the awards show! If I'm not mistaken, I think the supporting awards are given out pretty early in the telecast. I am so excited!

ahhhhhh! I just watched the "meet the nominees" thing when they interviewed Raul on the Tony website. SO funny... and too cute. His description of the time he stormed out of rehearsal had Wicked_Elphie and I laughing for like 10 minutes.

Half an hour 'til Tony time .... GO RAUL!

Thanks... I sort of stopped trying to find out with all of the Tony hype going on.

Speaking of which..... RAUL ESPARZA was robbed. Damn it, I'm so upset. Alright, maybe not robbed, because honestly it would've been a long shot for him to win since Taboo wasn't exactly a favorite this year, but I'm still so upset. I was telling Ruffian before: every time I hear his beautiful voice, or think about how a week and a half ago I was wishing him luck at the Tonys and he stood there in front of me sheeplishly crossing his fingers, it breaks my heart. I was totally pulling for him

Emcee Hon, dont stress

I wanted Raul to win too, you know I did....but these Awards are apples & oranges, its HOW DOES ONE JUDGE ART?

Cerveris is a truly wonderful performer, he is in "ASSASSINS" which the critics loved to bits, Raul was in "TABOO" a show that did not get embraced, we can be disappointed, but we dont wanna get nutty

Michael showed his usual UNBELIEVABLE CLASS in his speech, he is just GREAT in "ASSASSINS"

I woulda given the Award to Raul, but thats how it goes

I know in my heart Raul will have another day to shine, & am betting so will Michael Cerveris.

We are really fortunate to be able to see so many gifted Artists :)

DONT BE TOO SAD

CELEBRATE THE THEATER

I think RAUL knocked that part out of the BallPark with a Grand Slam Homer, & the Tony People cannot change my mind, merely because they didnt see it my way :)

To my fellow Raul Esparza-Heads, especially Wicked_Elphie and luvtheemcee:

Now is not the time to sit around and mope because such a beautiful, talented, beautiful man didn't win a piece of metal. He doesn't need that to know how FABULOUS he is! Just because his name was not called last night does not mean he wasn't deserving. The fact that he has so many crazy people (us) loving him and supporting him in every way should be reward enough. Let us be glad, let us be grateful!
