Does anyone know if The Piano Lesson sells rush tickets? Or does anyone know of any other options for cheaper tickets?
I stopped by the box office yesterday and asked since I happened to be in the city. The man seemed annoyed by the question but his response was that there was no rush or lottery.
It's odd, but I don't think I remember another show that hasn't offered either a lottery or rush. Super disappointed but I guess I'll grab one of the $49 from TodayTix.

It seems to be on TKTS fairly often, but that seems to be the best avenue for cheaper tickets as of now (still hoping it'll pop back up on TDF).
Are they still selling the $39 nosebleed tickets, or was that just a Previews thing? If they are, I think that's the best bet, if cheap is what you're going for. And the Barrymore is fairly intimate - those nosebleeds aren't so bad.

I got an email today that there would be a lottery ticket system.

From what I see in this article they are now selling rush tickets in addition to the lottery.
The general rush and digital lottery policies have been announced for the Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson. Beginning today, $35 rush tickets are available daily at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (241 West 47th St) box office starting at 10:00am. Tickets will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets per person and may only be purchased for that day's performance. Tickets are subject to availability.
The digital lottery is now open at https://rush.telecharge.com/. Entries for The Piano Lesson digital lottery start at 12:00am, one day before the performance, and end the same day at 3:00pm. Winners are drawn at 9:00am and 3:00pm. Winners may buy up to two tickets at $57 each.

Has anyone tried rushing? Is this one to show up super early for?

I saw the show on a Saturday night on a whim. Got to the box office around 6:30 PM, asked for rush, they had it still. I was front row left on the aisle. Great view, great show. I believe it was $39. Definitely worth rushing! Did not expect it work out the way it did.
Any obstructed view or was it fine, sight-wise?

It was honestly great. Only thing that was obstructed was when people would knock on the door to the house, but once they walked in the door all was well.

When I went this past Sunday, I was maybe 10th or so in line and ended up getting the last rush ticket. It was in one of the boxes - house right, so a lot of the kitchen was obstructed. I got in line maybe 30ish minutes before the box office opened.

Tried to rush on Wednesday 1/25, but took a lot longer to get there than I'd anticipated. Got in line at 9:35 am and was about the 45th person. It was a two show day, so they had a fair number of tickets, but I was still about 8 people back when the last one was sold. First person was there at 6:30 am. Might try again on Sunday since I won't really have another chance, but I'm doubtful they'll have much, if any, rush available for the final performance.

Rushed it this morning. Started out with 15-20 people ahead of me around 8:00 AM, which already had me nervous, and then people had multiple friends joining them in line in the hour before the box office opened, which A) pissed me off, and B) made me more nervous. Miraculously, I was the last one to get a rush ticket, the final one available being for the matinee (Row E way off to the side, not bad at all).
I overheard that there’ll be rush for tomorrow’s final performance as well, that the line will have security, and that normal ticket prices will be higher (I specifically heard that a $249 seat will be $300).
This will be my first time at the Barrymore Theatre since the closing performance of The Band’s Visit, a show I saw there 50 times. Gonna be nostalgic being back after almost four years!
