...which is located along Eighth Avenue between West 45th and 46th Streets on the border of Times Square and Hell’s Kitchen.

That monstrosity is what’s being built on that lot? Christ.
I'd be curious to see what it looks like from street level. Would've been nice if with all that real estate, they find a way to keep the sidewalks wide, iike around the Marquis.
That's disappointing - all that and not including a new theatre? Why didn't they do similar to the Marriott Marquis and include one? Side note: I would stay away from seeing a Wed matinee in any of those theatres on the block!

That architecture sets off a phobia that I didn't know I had.
Curious how the pub will fare during construction. We already know the Imperial will be closed, at least while the bottom portion of the building will be under construction.

Would the proposed Imperial updates be done during The Torch's build. That's smart thinking.

Really disappointed we won't be getting another theater. Wasn't there talk of a true black box theater going in this space below the new build? Or was that all broadway fandom dreams?
There was indeed, years back. It was abandoned by the Shuberts, though.
What a shame, too.

It is a shame. 45th and 46th are now sandwiched between two ugly a$$ buildings. Broadway needs to take back our streets
I was really hoping they'd do some sort of setback to allow more space on street level for the crowds. Based on these pictures, doesn't look likely. Damn shame.

I wonder how construction noise during the day will be once CHESS starts matinees on Wednesdays?
