Really? Odd- before the lottery I asked and was told they weren't doing SRO that night. Good to hear they were though. (I was being a greedy Gus and only doing lotto for hopes of a front row seat). But I did ask one of the BO people ahead of time, and was told they weren't doing SRO, so I guess that wasn't communicated fully.

Gotcha! Yeah, others have commented they have the "making it up as we go" vibe. But they seem to be pretty consistently doing standing room for every performance, and they are never sure how many tickets will be available. Best is to line up right away.
Sorry, I mean time to go over to TKT's and get a ticket for another show, that would be a disaster coming all the way from London to New York and end up seeing nothing that night as I was a lottery loser!
For those who have done SRO for this show, is there a rail you can lean on/is it a good view? I've never done SRO before and have always been curious about this in general, but specifically now because I am dying to see this and lotto/SRO are my only options.

ohhk- Thanks for the clarification. If I want to do SRO, I guess I'll just assume for the next couple months it'll be available, since it's been selling out!
bwayfan- I didn't (obviously) do SRO, but having seen them, it appeared as if there were a bar to lean on. It seemed a bit recessed from the orchestra- a bit blocked, but if it's your only option, I'd say go for it. Someone else can add maybe who was actually standing back there.

I've done SRO twice now and yes there is a bar to lean on. Not going to lie to you and say it's comfortable in any way. It's just annoying having to leave your coat and bag(s) on the floor and trying to comfortably stand around them. As I've said before though, the view is fantastic - you can see facial expressions and nothing is cut off. Just no it's not the most glamorous experience and some others standing were SHHH-ing the creative team for talking behind us.
Thanks for the info, taylor. I'll remember not to bring any extra stuff that I'd have to stand around...and as long as the view is good, and I have something to lean on, it's better than not seeing the show at all.

Don't bother with TKTS for this show. Was speaking today to one of the folks who works there. Show was up twice the first or so in previews and not since with no expectations of it being available. People I believe we have a HUGE HIT on our hands and it hasn't even opened yet!!!!
It's been Super CRAAZY! I go at least 1 time a week when I have free time (usually Sunday nights).
I went on Mothers's Day and there were hundreds of people/families, so I thought I wouldn't win, BUT I won!!! :)
I had a blast.
Also to ensure a standing room spot, get there and line up around 2PM-3PM so you can be sure to get a ticket. My friend did SRO Friday night and they were 4th & 5th in line at 3pm. They sell SRO tickets 1 hour before curtain.
got SRO for last night's show and to be exact, there are 28 SRO spots. 4 on the left side(due to the sound board), 15 in the center & 9 on the right side. they are $27 and I got there by 4:00, but most of the people in front of me got there between 2:00-3:00.

ACL2006 - I was on the SRO line for last night's show as well - small world :). I was one of the folks that got there at 2, along with my bf and another friend. We were 4th, 5th, and 6th in line.
And yep, 28 spots. I was SRO 107, which is pretty much dead center and an amazing view. The show was well worth it and I'd do it again in a heartbeat next time I'm in the city. (Though it did get old having so many people ask you if the SRO line was the line for lottery, lol).
I got one of the last spots, SRO 1(right next to the sound board) and it was also an amazing view. and yeah, it got old quick with people asking if the SRO was the line for the lotto and having to explain to people the difference between lotto & SRO. i just wonder what people do when it rains since they can't wait inside for SRO.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree. ~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~
