I didn't remember it being anything but what was on the original studio album plus "Someone Else's Story," but maybe I've actually never listened to the full thing? (Despite the Broadway version being terrible, I still think that recording of "S.E.S" is the best, and wish for that reason it were available on iTunes.

It's a bit of an amalgamation. They use the Broadway version of A Model of Decorum and iirc Pity the Child also comes earlier, but they have Anatoly win against the other Russian (whose name I forget) in the end rather than doing another round with Freddie.

The pro shots of the Moscow production on YouTube from the Broadway Moscow account are stunning. As someone mentioned, the story and most productions have a coldness to them, and this production embraces that and handles it effectively with it’s big flashy production values. While the production design appears over the top at first, after watching several full numbers, it never seemed ostentatious. It’s really spot on.

Jodi Bensen sings the ultimate Nobody’s Side
i just can’t see this revival being a success. Perhaps an Encores production ?

Gaga has said she wants to do Broadway. This would vocally be a great fit and would definitely fill the seats.... Maybe a Josh Groban/Lady Gaga/Brandon Urie lineup?

This wouldn’t work for Lady Gaga, at least not at this point in her career. She would need to do a show that was a star vehicle with her name above the title in order for the numbers to work. They’d have to pay her a lot to do Broadway, and producers couldn’t charge a fortune for a ticket to see her in a show like Chess like they could for a show like Tell Me On a Sunday or Anything Goes. And while Florence is a nice big role, I don’t see her sharing a marquee. If they’re going to get her on Broadway, they’re going to do it big, make it all about her, and everyone is going to make lots of money.

A revival of Chess would be interesting, especially because if it proves successful we could finally see a standardized version of the show.
And just to unnecessarily add to the months old Lady Gaga conversation, though she could probably do it well, the combination of taking on an old show with a rocky reputation and having to share equal focus with two other leads would turn her off from this.

Does she have that big of an ego? Lordy.
And that's exciting news. Love to see Aida come back.

I’m not trying to say Gaga’s a narcissist, but I also don’t think she’s exactly lacking in ego. And being one of the biggest stars on the planet right now, it just strikes me as unlikely that she’d come to Broadway unless if the show is a real vehicle for her.

I’d think she’d come to Broadway in something new but she’s also not above doing a Las Vegas residency so who knows

Lena Hall is more then likely going to be tied up with Snowpierecer for a few more years

I would absolutely love to see Carrie Hope Fletcher play Florence and Josh Groban as Anatoly. Not too sure who I can see playing Freddie. Jonathan Bailey maybe? Who would be a good Freddie for this potential revival?

I'll be curious to see if anything comes of the concert version that was performed at Theatre Royal Drury Lane this month. I've never felt like the show needed a new book it just needed to be trimmed and that's exactly what they did with this concert. It was structurally similar to the original London version but they trimmed 20 minutes from the first act by cutting Merano, Commie Newspapers, Hymn to Chess, The Merchandisers, Florence and Molokov and Der Kleine Franz. They also used Someone Else's Story in the first act rather than in the second act like the Albert Hall concert version. I'd love to see that version get a full staging but I know there have been other versions with completely new books in the works for years.
