If they’re not looking for names, Alysha Umphress and Emma Hunton would be great for this.

I don't think it's more of a question of age, but of gender as the audience was mostly women. I think that any woman of any age can find something relatable in this show. The question is can it also appeal to men--but, then, probably the kind of men that wouldn't like this show wouldn't be seeing a musical on Broadway to begin with."
And this might be where the shorter running time helps out. They might be more willing to sit through a shorter show. Also for those that want to make a show part of their night and not the whole night you can have dinner, a show, and still be out in time to go clubbing.. which this show so makes you want to do, or at least do something with the energy you leave with.
A bit dramatic lol
Not really. I saw the show 4 times in Chicago, so it's less "dramatic" than it is true.
Pauley is done with Evita on September 21, so she could return.
I think it would be crazy not to bring her back after the Boston run. Mack is okay, but didn't really match the other girls in presence and performance. Pauley definitely brought it and made it a more balanced cast.
Any word if they're expanding the show, or keeping it just a hair over an hour? Would this be the first time a major musical was shorter than a one-act, and performed without a companion piece?

It doesn't need to be longer, nor does it need a companion piece, it is perfect as it is x

It is not shorter than a one act - it is one act. Hillary & Clinton ran 65-70 minutes this past season, and no one ever commented on its length. I'm so confused as to why people are making the 75 minutes a big deal? Hopefully they'll do a 7pm & 10pm show on Friday or Saturdays, that'd be so fun!
Also, to everyone asking about why it isn't in a smaller theater, if it'll move, etc - the producers had a lot of theaters to pick from, and specifically picked out the Brooks. They want the show to grow and play larger houses. If it was up to this board, every show would end up in the Booth or Circle in the Square. It's a pop concert - it'll fit great in most medium sized houses. It's in a tiny theater in London because it's cheap as hell (not traditional West End) and causes huge supply & demand, to a fault.

Last time I saw it in London, the audience reaction between songs alone extended it to well over 80 minutes.

Hillary & Clinton ran a solid 90 minutes.

Maybe they did it in slow motion the night you saw it?

A one act- 75 minute show- and paying top of the line prices to see it- seems like a stretch to me. I do understand it is about quality and not quantity- always is- but I do wish the show was adding additional songs.

Saw it twice and both times it ran about 85-90 minutes. Definitely longer than 65 minutes.
However, to prove your point, The Other Place and Constellations were only about 70 minutes, so the issue with Six only running 80 minutes is silly.

I think everyone is jumping the gun here on what the top ticket prices will be for SIX. We know NOTHING yet! I believe in the West End, the show's prices are lower than other hit shows and, for all we know, the Broadway producers may take a similar approach. The show is perfect at its current length. It doesn't need extras at all.

The Arts Theatre in the West End is a small 350-seat house and generally speaking, most West End shows are much cheaper and have more affordable options for seating than their Broadway counterparts. I think Chicago was probably going to be the only reasonably priced production of the show in North America. Prices for the other pre-Broadway productions are already rapidly climbing to double the highest ticket price in Chicago. There's no way in hell Broadway producers are going to model the prices off a small West End theatre that would be considered Off-Broadway.
If they more JUST to make it longer, they could actually dillute their show. More isnt better.

I have seen the show 5 times now and in between All You Wanna Do and I Don't Need Your Love every time there's been an 'ok let's wrap it up now ladies' moment. 5 seconds after that thought enters my brain, they do so. The show knows exactly what it is and how to use every second of it's running time to it's advantage.
Apart from extending the finale/Megasix section so that the audience gets a 'bigger moment' with the girls, I think anything else would ruin the delicate balance of the show outstaying it's welcome or being a perfect nights entertainment.
I feel like of all the musicals announced this season, this one has gotten the most hype. I see more posts about this than I did about Moulin Rouge or even JLP.

Of course, I have no idea what contracts the current Chicago/Boston cast have. So, it will be interesting to see if there are any changes for Broadway...."

Because Sam Pauly is indeed returning, I feel like it would make a lot of sense to keep Courtney Mack with the production as an additional alternate after Boston. Considering she already knows one of the tracks phenomenally well and has great chemistry with the other girls, could be an easy choice/transition

I think thats only because its currently playing other places and keeps announcing things. Its had been a year (or more) since there were performances of either MR or JLP. Hard to continue to talk about something that is dark.

Having seen this in Chicago, I thought the length was fine. It didn't seem too short nor did it feel like it was dragging. Rather than add extra songs, I feel like there is room for some spontaneity. At the show I attended, there was a guy in the front row dancing with the Queens from his seat during one of the songs. So they interacted with him and riled up the audience a bit. At first, I thought he was part of the cast but then saw him at the stage door after the show waiting with everyone else.

No
Cleves always picks (picked?) someone in the front to dance with her during Get Down. If they dance along she dances along and then says something to the effect of "Ok! Enough, it's my song", if they don't get up and dance she says something like "you're boring, you remind me of my ex-husband".
Talking with some locals and bartenders this weekend when I asked what they're most excited about for upcoming theatre, 5/6 said Six!! The other said Moulin Rouge. Seems like those have garnered the most attention from theatergoers for now. Will be interesting to see how it does at the box office. I think having some late night shows similar to Hedwig would be beneficial.

I think it’ll be a hot ticket and no one will care about the running time.
