Are we finally getting our first original score of a musical this season?
1. This likely belongs in the Six master topic.
But also 2
2. NICE find!
Nothing official, but I saw that the popular instagram fanpage @broadway.4me posted a seeming ominous six reference

I also saw those on Twitter and Instagram and didn't want to specifically call those out (or the ones who posted them) in case I was reading too much into things. lol. But those were my radar to trying out different URLs and @ accounts on social media for anything with the word Broadway.
I read both of those Instagram posts as Hal Prince tributes.

Hey! I run @broadway.4me! I respectfully have to say it is not a tribute to Hal. Everyone I know who also posted it are getting the same comments, dms, etc! I legally cannot say what it is referencing though.
Either way rest in peace Hal Prince.
Well, Six is tagged in the Humans of Broadway post, so I guess that's pretty much a confirmation, and they didn't get the memo about it not being legal.

Fair enough! I already knew about the thing that it's (likely) referencing, which is why my mind didn't already go there haha
Lesli Margherita also shared the photo of the crown (logo?) On her Instagram story
The SIX marketing team reached out to a bunch of broadway/nyc “influencers” to post the crown image to build hype around, well, Six on Broadway. Announcement coming very soon.
Jerry Mitchell just posted the same crown too
The plan all along has been for it to come to Broadway. I'm glad they're finally making moves building to an official announcement.
I'm just really curious which space it'll take. I think that'll make-or-break the show.

People are going to be surprised at the choice of theater, from what I’ve heard.
I saw this in London last month at the Arts Theatre. It was the most fun I've had at a show in ages. My two thoughts on bringing it to New York:
1) I'm surprised it's going to Broadway and not Off-Broadway, but please don't put this show in a big house. It will lose half its charm.
2) A friend told me they perform with American accents in Chicago. I hope they either retain the original London cast or have the performers use British accents in NY. I can't imagine "Don't Lose Your Head" without the accent.
In any case, can't wait to see the show again :)
ETA:
Arts Theatre: 350 seats
Brooks Atkinson Theatre: 1,069 seats
The American accents work great. You're right about "Don't Lose Your Head" and during one part... she adopts an accent to make the rhyme work.
SO EXCITED!! I've been waiting for this after I couldn't get tickets for the Chicago run.
There are many doubters, but I think this can be a hit. Doesn't hurt that it's the only musical announced for next season with an original score.
I don't think I've been THIS excited for a show to come to Broadway. The entire soundtrack is on my workout playlist and I cant tell you how many times I've drunkenly yelled out "LISTEN UP LET ME TELL YOU A STORY" while leaving the bars in Hells Kitchen.
I'm still gagging at the fact that so far this is the ONLY original score this season. Regardless with this, Moulin Rouge, Jagged Little Pill, Girl From North County, West Side Story, and (hopefully) Company, this season is shaping up to be much stronger than the previous.
I must be the only one who doesn’t get the hype of SIX, but I’m still happy for the show and creative team having enough huge success for it come to Broadway. Congrats to everyone! I’ll probrably see it if the reviews keep being good.
I am BEYOND excited for this. I am slightly skeptical about the size of the house, but that was always going to be an issue if this wanted to go to Broadway (and the pros hugely outweigh this con). That said, it actually could work in a bigger house because of how audience driven it's starting to become. Larger venues means a bigger crowd, and it could amplify the atmosphere of it.
The Minnesota engagement later this year is likely them testing out the show in a larger venue for Broadway and perhaps, if all goes well, a national tour.

YES, so happy for them! I saw the show in Chicago and absolutely loved it. I think it's one of the best new scores in years, too.
JUST TAKE ALL MY MONEY. I haven't been this obsessed and excited about a show since I saw the original cast of Rent in 1996.
Kind of curious about the length of the preview period. It seems like a show that's pretty settled - and likely a cast and band that has been working together for several months. I understand it takes some time to get the lights and sound mix right and to explore a new environs, but does it really take a month? I freely admit I don't know what the usual "preview" period is (understanding that every show is different).
Also wondering if they will do more than 8 shows a week, or add a Sunday evening show - if equity rules allow Of course, they'd better get the alternatives ready to go in that situation....
