Before anyone else asks, like I was about to -- yes, Pitre DOES wear a period wig in the show, unlike on this dress rehearsal video of "It's Today":
Actually, she doesn't. I was there for the first preview and they ended up changing the wig - it now looks like her real hair, which is much, much more flattering. And it looks period enough.
The important part is - Louise is SENSETIONAL as Mame, and Judy Blazer is a complete hoot. I loved the entire production and plan on visiting it again as soon as I can!
I assumed she'd be wearing a menopause wig, not a period one...

Yes, I've also seen the show - the wig is almost identical to her real hair. The blonde curly wig was only for the photo shoot.
I stand corrected and thank you for the advance info. I have just cancelled my ticket order as I refuse to see a production of MAME without a Mame Dennis sporting a short 20-30's era coiffure.
Thank you again.
Robotic, mechanical, joyless choreography. It needs to be effervescent and it's joyless.

Really BF?!
You won't see it based on that?
^ And this is coming from a guy who does wigs professionally for a living.
I refuse to see Evita until she changes her nail polish. It's the wrong color.
Nothing about that clip would inspire me to make the trip up to Connecticut to see this production.

Having seen the show already (and planning to see it again!!), I'll admit that wasn't the best clip to use to promote the show. It truly is a stunning production - Louise and Judy are stellar. Wait till the reviews come out...... just sayin'...
Glad to hear they're good.
But why would anybody post a promotional clip where the orchestra sounds like crap (seriously, are those professional musicians?), and Louise looks like she's dressed for the gym ... hardly a "dress" rehearsal.
Are they trying discourage sales?
^^^^^^
I agree, and that poor trumpet player....
I have seen plenty of horrible wigs on stage, but I wouldn't not go see a show just because of one finale wig.
Clearly Mame's hair in that clip was bothering HER a lot more than me!
I agree about that orchestra. There were times I lost track of the actual tune -- horrific!
I'm curious if she ever uses the bugle or if it is simply handed to her at the end to hold aloft?

She does in facet play the bugle at the begining of "It's Today" at the top of the staircase, as Mame traditionally does.
In that clip... Louise looks like she's from 1975... fresh from Mama Mia while the rest of the cast is wearing perfect 1920's outfits.
Is that the way it's done or was her real costume not ready in time. Please advise.
Oh dear.
It looks like she is wearing a wig, that look exactly like her own hair...
REALLY?!
