Tough to perform. Impossible to understand. Actors love ‘Waiting for Godot.’
Interviews with Reeves, Goodman, Pierce, and Lane.

So has anyone actually seen it?
I miss the first night preview reports.

Thank you! There’s been surprisingly little early word here about such a high profile production.

At a loss that no one has seen this or reported back.

Same. I haven’t even seen the token pics of people with playbills on social media.

I've noticed this happens more and more with these expensive, high profile shows. Particularly plays. I think the exorbitant costs have pushed out the fans who care and celebrate early previews.

Waiting on reactions that never come is a bit meta, isn't it. ;-)

Very that.

I’m going next week. With these prices, I’ll only get to see it once so wanted to wait a few weeks into the run for them to have a chance to solidify their performances.

The prices for the show are outrageous. Is it really that great of a show I literally checked in anything in the orchestra for the days I’m there was $500 or in the very back. It was like 300
it’s insane
the worst part about it is the show doesn’t have any type of close caption system. Due the fact that I need certain seats without the close caption seats because of medical reasons they want me to purchase premium pricing so basically makes the show unaffordable

Jordan I was wondering why you hadn’t been, I must be honest I hadn’t looked to see what was being charged.

I am seeing it later in the run. But, I believe the comment about outrageous pricing pushing out the true fans is spot on. If you look at ATC, there was almost no discussion on Othello, Good Night and now not a word about Godot, sadly. If prices were affordable there would be plenty of comments. I think Godot took a while to sell out. I remember watching how well it was selling and I thought I had made a mistake and that prices may lower later on. Glad I bought when I did. However, it is the first time that I will be in the balcony and the first time that the hubby will not be with me. At these prices, unless he really wants to see something, he is not coming. It happened 3-4 years ago with the MET. It is too expensive to buy a ticket for an opera that he does not like or that he is not particularly interested in. In London, he joins me for everything because prices are not that outrageous YET (but I fear that it might change).
I am still shocked people would pay $1200 (I think it was) to see Hamilton last week to see Odom Jr. Good for them but that means game over for me.

I agree that the prices are ridiculous but this has been on TKTS every day so far.

There are also some excellent dress circle seats for under $150 on TodayTix. And 10% off for the Gold level. I'm seeing this play next week.

I'm in a similar boat. Due to a brain tumor that damaged my optic nerve, I can see to get around, read, work, etc. but anything beyond a short distance blurs because my eyes can no longer converge (focus). Ing discounted seats for those with mobility issues, they will not sell me one of those discounted wheelchair seats for my disability. They do have low vision seats on hold, but they are at premium prices. I don't know on what planet they think charging somebody who is in some cases legally blind almost $500 is absolutely insane.

Never thought I’d see the day where I’d pay $200 for a “partial view” seat but…here we are.

I got 6 tickets not sure what I’m doing with them

I just spot-checked some dates for next week. Maybe they lower prices a week out or maybe I've become desensitized, but the tix aren't THAT crazy by Broadway star-driven play standards... $144 to $385, and that top level includes Platinum Lounge access. You don't get a free drink with an OUTSIDERS $497 ticket.
Perhaps the strategy is price em high so that people still feel they get a discount when paying $150 or $200 at TKTS.

I assume you'll start DM'ing loads of people on this board (or at least the ones who have not blocked you yet) asking if they want one?

Bingo! The illusion of a bargain.

Possibly, you want to buy some?

You can always sell them on Theatr under "Ticket agent so and so". After all, Theatr app is where scalpers hopes and dreams go to die.

Stubhub! Theatr app is dead after all those high fees they slap on the tickets. I used to buy from there, not anymore
