Supposedly, the cast was informed last night that the producers are trying to get a US Tour ready in about 6 months, and that there would be "minor modifications" from the current production. Don't know how true or if it's just a rumor, but figured I'd throw it up here and see if anyone else heard it or can confirm/deny it.

In all of there press releases about closing there has always been mention on tour in london and here.
It was in a WIW fan group that I'm a member of. The guy who posted it sounded as if he was a cast member or a friend of someone in the cast. Most of the people in the group seem to know who he/she was, and usually the false rumors, fake postings are usually discredited pretty quickly.

That is so exciting! Wouldn't it be great if some of the orignal cast did the tour? Do you think that's possible? I just hope they leave the projections but I wonder if that would be feasible on tour.
I hope they do this. I really didn't want to waste my time while I was in NY, but if it comes to San Diego or Los Angeles I'd be more than willing to go see it. OOOOOOO, now I'm excited.
I would think the ALW brand name would actually make it a good title for a tour. The projections might be complicated to perfect in each city, but it would certainly be an easy show to "travel" with.
I'll Morning monday quarterback here -- I think if they had stuck with the original plan - Pre-broadway tour in Chicago from Nov through Jan and then open in NY - things would have been very different....
The people on the road I think would have loved having a new ALW score (as they should with this one!!!)

Maybe since Judy Kuhn never got to perform on Broadway, she'll do the tour.
It would be sooo cool is Maria Freidman would be able to do the tour but in her current state with the cancer and missing so many shows maybe she should keep work on the down low even if it is 6 months away.
Judy Kuhn has young kids - I doubt she'd do the tour, unfortunately as I would love to see her do the part.
I would assume Jill and Angela would do the tour, but I dont know. I cannot imagine anyone else playing the title role besides Angela. Any chance Lisa Brescia would do the tour...I'll have to ask her!

There has been talk of a US and UK tour and hopefully therewill be as I have missed the show here having tickets for March l0th.
I am extremely disappointed to have missed Michael Ball in this role and know he must have been, too, as he had looked forward to another Broadway show after an absence of l5 years. He had stellar reviews in Britain when he subbed for Michael Crawford.
I hope he takes the role again if there is a tour here. He is an actor ""extraordinaire" along with having the best tenor/baritone voice I've had the pleasure of hearing.
Since it was said it will be 6 months away, hopefully everyone will be in good health again... and possibly available to tour.
Perhaps they're hoping for a few nominations they could use to help sell it on the road?

I desperately hope WIW would be make tour in 6months.
Is there a fan group of WIW?
Where is it,anyway?
It is VERY hard to get people to tour who have attachments at home...Friedman has kids, who I think are still in school in NYC.
I still think the official Woman in White fans should be "White Chicks"..
Rent Heads
Jekkies
And
White Chicks
Is there a fan group of WIW?

Lizzie - There is an American branch of the michael ball fan club headquartered in UK. email patrius@comcast.net. I understand that there are quite a few fans scattered over the US, I am one of them here in Florida and there are many more here. Hopfully he will return for the WIW tour.
I seriously doubt that MB will join the U.S. tour.

Wet blanket time:
Except for Andrew Lloyd Webber there is not a star name attached to The Woman in White nor is the source novel part of the US literary history.
Maria Friedman, Michael Ball and Judy Kuhn all mean something to us, but to the Great Out There that is the USA, no one has heard of them nor have they heard of the show that could only squeeze out a 3 month run in New York. The show by itself will not sell.
Forget ruminating on which original cast members could go on the road and think of a BIG star (or two or three) who would sell tickets.
What TV series has gone off the air in the last 3 years with a star who could do one of the leads? This is the question that ought to be asked.
I wouldn't count on Jill Paice going on tour. She has done the role of Laura a long time and I can imagine that she wanna do something else next.
