Unless it's a box office name, probably no one.  There's no reason for the producer to keep it open and lose SVOG money once the show is filmed.

Wonderful moment for her when they did curtain call for the final show on Broadway at that time. It was time for Katharine McPhee to take her bow and she went and grabbed Ms. Torns with her to take her final bow.  A very classy move by Katharine McPhee to do that for somebody that did so much for this show. I know she had played the lead at times but like you said it would be nice if she got the chance to be the star of the show.

I feel like they'll almost certainly go for someone who already played the role (on Bway or Tour) or give Stephanie her well deserved promotion to lead...

If not, I'd personally love to see Lindsay Mendez, Jackie Burns or Caissie Levy (or really any ex-Elphaba for that matter).

And it's definitely not happening, but a country music star like Jennifer Nettles or Kacey Musgraves would've been very interesting to see... And perhaps somewhat random choices, but someone more pop could work too, like Tori Kelly or Brandy...
