Edited: the "Gimme Some Sugar Spice Pie" refers to both Sugarland and her 2016 song "Sugar" ("Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme some of that sugar /Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme something sweet /They want my sugar and spice and everything nice /And they're begging for a taste of my cherry pie". Also, the "Fantastic Franberry Pie" is a nod to lead producers Fran and Barry Weissler, who also stunt cast Nettles in theirChicago.
Buy tickets now folks - don't miss her!"
It very well could end up being Jennifer Nettles (she’s my top guess as well), but the pie names don’t mean anything. Those are the standard pie names that are always up on the board as a part of the set (including the O and the N), as can be seen in this Instagram:
Sara just posted a video on the waitress Instagram page, explaining that she is experiencing some vocal fatigue and will be calling out of the show tonight (not COVID related at all). She also said they’ve been working on something exciting, I wonder what that thing could be.

Would love to see Jennifer Nettles in the role! There's a performance of her singing SUTBM on Youtube, so much emotion and passion. She gave everything!
I definitely think it’s gonna be Jennifer Nettles with the Georgia reference and that she’s friends with Sara (I mean that always helps lol!). Not sure how I feel about it as I don’t know her music or voice that well. She’s not a big star name, or is she?!
Selfishly I’d have liked to have seen Nicolette or Kat back as they were my faves, but I’m actually a little disappointed they didn’t choose a bipoc Jenna to replace Sara. I mean maybe they have if it isn’t Jennifer.

And she said Stephanie Torns is taking over for tonight's show!

I’m wondering if Jennifer will come in for a limited run, maybe six weeks or something and then mid-December they’ll announce a closing Jenna. Just a thought I had earlier today.
I feel like Nettles has been throwing herself in the Broadway arena for the past couple of years. She did "No Good Deed" on the PBS Wicked concert. I think she'd be fantastic. And hey, if it keeps the show running. Happy for it.

It’s not like they have to worry about that though…it is only a limited run and I highly doubt they’d close earlier than January 9th when they have such a big fan base no matter who plays Jenna.
I would really like them to just announce this already because I’m in the city today and would like to know dates and see if there are any partial view/box seats for her run lol
For a limited run, where theoretically money isn’t the main objective (how naive of me), and the show will likely sell regardless…. I’m pretty disappointed they’re opting for a stunt casting. I heard from an insider that they did *try* to get someone who would’ve pleased a lot of theater fans, but weren’t able.
That Deuxmoi "tip" was clearly a random person speculating based on yesterday's clue and the social media buzz around it, not an actual insider. That being said, it's obviously going to be her.

Oh man now I’m SO curious about who that could’ve been!! Do you think if Jennifer has a limited run they could close the run??
