#1What Happens to "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812" ?
Posted: 11/27/13 at 11:01amHas there been any news? Does it just close on January 5 never to be seen in New York again? As much as I loved "Fun Home", this show, to me, is the show of the season. What a shame if it just disappears..

Posted: 11/27/13 at 11:39amThis is probably my favorite new work of musical theatre in years. I've been listening to the cast recording on repeat since its digital release about a month ago. I would love to see this have more life in NYC.

Posted: 11/27/13 at 11:44amEven though I enjoyed Comet a lot, I think its appeal is limited because only an intelligent audience will appreciate it.

Posted: 11/27/13 at 11:45amVery artistically lovely, but also limited in scope. It's only a small slice of War and Peace, and they're trying to make it the main event. They should have tried to fit in more.

Posted: 11/27/13 at 11:50amConsidering that they have a billboard up in Times Square now, I can't imagine that the production isn't planning on extending past January 5th.
#7What Happens to
Posted: 11/27/13 at 11:52amI'd rather have a small slice of War and Peace in 2 hours and twenty minutes than a spark notes version of half of War and Peace in that same time. The narrow focus on a section was one of the smarter adaptation choices.

Posted: 11/27/13 at 12:24pmYes, yes, it needed more "War & Peace". Why on Earth did they call it "War & Peace" if they were only going to focus on the Natasha & Pierre section?

Personally, it could have used at least four lengthy ballads describing Napoleon's ability as a general and the Great Man theory, to be more faithful to the novel.
And a third act, entirely devoted to Pierre joining the Freemasons.
And surely they could have included another one or two dozen named characters.

Kad, remember when I told you my goal was to finish "War and Peace" by the time we go to the show again in December?
Well, guess what!
LOL!

Posted: 11/27/13 at 2:12pmI think they could have used two or three great comets, too. I felt disappointed just having one.
#13What Happens to
Posted: 11/27/13 at 4:26pmIs there any reason they couldn't extend? That tent could be there long term, I would imagine.

This show's got 9 lives, and they're only on 3. Everybody chill out.
