Hi, this is my first post ever on Broadway World. I recently watched Seth Rudetsky interview Nicole Parker about her Defying Gravity debacle concerning her doing a "No Fly Show". I have never heard that term before and when I search for it I can't find what it means. Seth Rudetsky's OBSESSED! feat. Nicole Parker
It means that they use a cherry picker instead of a device that would make the witch fly and yell in unison. Therefore, all Wicked performances are "No Fly" shows. You're welcome.
Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE
My favorite part of a NO FLY show at the WICKED, I saw one, is how the other actors on stage slowly duck to make it appear Elphaba is rising. That's Show Biz.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST had no Beast fly shows when his rigging went awry. That was known as the Martha Graham, where the Beast had to do an interpretive dance to fill the music as he transformed.
AnD TITANTIC had Rubber Baby shows when the boy in the show (who had no understudy) was replaced by a rubber baby doll.
Wait, how did the boy the Titanic get replaced by a rubber baby? The baby tracks on stage with a boat at the end of the opening number?
Dean: Can I tell you something?
Lorraine: That depends on what it is.
Dean: I think you're really really pretty.
Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.
Yeah I watched it. I just misunderstood what she was saying. I actually feel really stupid now. Either way, thanks for the responses everyone! Glad to be here!
