Sally in Cabaret
either Roxie or Velma in Chicago.
I'm not sexy. At all. You don't get much non-sexy than me. Aaaaand dancing for me is a bit (understatement of the year) difficult.
But I;d love to play those roles.
SHOWS:
Rent(too old)
The Lion King(very slim chance I'd get Timon or Pumbaa)
Phantom, Les Miz, Miss Saigon(not vocally strong enough)
ROLES:
Cassie in A Chorus Line
Horse in The Full Monty
Amy in Company
Velma in Chicago
Understudy Joined: 6/7/06
Shows:
Floyd Collins (ooooh, how I would love to do this show!)
Myths and Hymns
Assassins (wrong shade. Could you imagine a black John Wilkes Booth?)
like Dollypop, I would also love to play Dolly Levi.
Others:
Lizzie Curry in "110 in the Shade" - im not a woman
Don Quixote in "Man of La Mancha
Coalhouse Walker Jr. in "Ragtime"
Tony in "The Most Happy Fella"
Curly in "Oklahoma!"
Sid Sorokin in "The Pajama Game"
all of the above apply because I am no baritone leading man and never will be.
Dream role that i WILL play someday: Finch in "How to Succeed"
I would love to be in Miss Saigon, and Belize in Angels in America. I REALLY hope it happends....
I would love to do ANY show, but its nice to rep the un-musically talented group
I am not a singer, dancer or actress, but if I could go on in any role on Broadway right now for just one night just for fun…
Roxie in Chicago (or Velma… can’t decide)
Christine in Phantom
Penny in Hairspray (my second choice would be Amber)
Galinda in Wicked
Maureen in Rent
One of the soriority girls in Legally Blonde (Even if it’s just because it looks like a lot of fun)
Roxie in Chicago (I can't sing well enough)
Emily in "Our Town" - I'm too old
Rose in Gypsy- that voice thing again
Willy Loman- Death of A Salesman- wrong gender
Little Edie in Grey Gardens- voice
Charity in Sweet Charity. I fit her personality so well but I am not the best dancer.

Assassins (wrong shade. Could you imagine a black John Wilkes Booth?)
ChrisLK - I had a friend (who is rather large and very Queenie African-American) play Samuel Byck (Santa Suit and all) in a production once in Alabama, so don't rule yourself out, there have been colourblind castings of 'Assassins'.
for the race thing;
kim in miss saigon *sigh*
color purple
dreamgirls
for the weight thing (i'm more of the cuddly comic type);
penny in hairspray
roxie
juliet (or many of the shakespearean girls)
most of the Spelling Bee girls, but particularly Olive
for the fact that no-one does these shows;
i'm also championing Floyd Collins
City of Angels - i'd love to be an angel city 4 alto
for the gender thing;
judas in JCS - i'd want to sing it all in those keys too
mark in rent

About Judas-I've heard of the role being played by a woman. Apparently my friend saw Becky Gulsvig play Judas at her old local summer community theater in Fargo, Trollwood, so there is still a chance!
Katurian in The Pillowman.
Alas, I'm 15 years old and female.
Oh, and Johanna in Sweeney.
(Thankfully, the roles I usually really love are the ones I could actually play, at least sometime in the future. Hooray for that!)
Dickinson in 1776, but unfortunately I'm a young female. I did get a callback for a production for both women, but ultimately didn't get cast. Too young for Abigail and beltier than they wanted for Martha, methinks. Or too ethnic.
A man is playing Dolly in Asbury Park, Dolly...so you can do it:

Carrie or Mrs. White in Carrie.
But I have boy parts. And the show was bad.
As a designer I don't have to worry about this problem! Hah. (although thats not entirely true. There are certain shows they are far more likely to consider a certain type of designer for and you can get pidgeon-holed).
Akiva
Assassins (wrong shade. Could you imagine a black John Wilkes Booth?)
I'm Filipino and was cast as the Balladeer. I sure was all-American!
I'd love to play Tony in West Side Story, but I'll never be seen for more than a Shark (if even that).
Effie in Dreamgirls
There are so many, I can't think of them right now. Let's just hope colorblind and non-traditional casting is on the uprise in the coming years.

I would love to be Sweeney but then they would have to change it to "There was a barber and her husband..." LOL. I wanna play Mama Rose too but I'm no belter. OOOOoooOOO and anyone in Avenue Q. :)

Another role I'd love to play but I don't think I ever will is Val in A Chorus Line. I look the part enough, but I don't think I'll ever be a good enough dancer for the role.

Josh in BIG.

Peter Pan but I'm scared of heights.

I would love to be in Bare and Rent. Well, I might be able to pull off Maureen. But I could never be in Bare. I'd be a horrible Ivy.
Maureen from RENT, Penny from Hairspray, Yitzhak from Hedwig.
Not correct gender for any of these roles.

Dracula
Scarlet Pimpernel
Little Women (Jo, of course).
Although I think I actually have a good voice, anything musical theater...sadly, I'm not trained well enough for such undertakings. To be able to act AND sing in a show (maybe a little dancing, too) now, that's the ultimate :)
