Ok, I should change that. Ha! He was still the nicest.

One of the nicest fellows you'd ever want to meet.

Zoe Caldwell after Medea. At the last performance (I saw it 4 times), she made a lovely curtain speech and was most gracious to her fans afterwards. But the thing that sticks out in my mind was a young (maybe 8 or 9) boy who was obviously with his parents and who obviously was way out of his depth with Medea. When he got to Ms. Caldwell, he asked in all innocence, "Are you in this show?" Rather than the expected reaction (having seen her blow the roof off in the play), she looked at the boy with these magnificent eyes, stroked his head and purred "You have the most beautiful hair I've ever seen." I melted on the spot and have never forgotten her since.

Ed, that story is great. I've met Caldwell and she was very nice, but your story beats everything.
My nicest: Kathy Bates after Night Mother. We're both from Memphis, and after I got her autograph and walked away, she called my name, came after me and talked about Memphis and Broadway shows for over thirty minutes.
Shannon Durig by a mile. I'll add Hayley Podschun, Nikki Snelson, and Alexa Vega to that list as well. I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.
