When EXACTLY did the December 2001 workshop for WICKED occur? And who (other than Kristin and Idina) played the principles?

I don't even think Idina was in it at that point. I'm pretty sure it was Stephanie J. Block, though I could be wrong.

Mine is labeled December 14, 2001, and it's definitely Idina and Kristin, but I'm not sure who else is on it.
Kristin was Glinda, Stephanie J Block was Elphie, but they are the only two as far as I know, who remained. For some reason, I can't put my hands on my list *runs off to search*
I believe David Burnham played Fiyero during the workshop. Who is currently in 'The Light in the Piazza'
Have to just add that David Burnham is doing a concert at Birdland tomorrow (6/19) with Stephanie as his special guest :)
BTW - I'm not 100% sure of who did the Dec 2001 workshop. I remember reading that Idina first auditioned about a week after 9/11 so she very well could've been in it by then. And if it was indeed on the 14th then that was on my birthday!

Popular- your Stephanie knowledge always astounds me (I'm referring to in general not just this particular post). Though I am a little surprised you don't know for sure about the reading.
I thought Adam Garcia was the original workshop Fiyero.
wasn't colin hanlon involved in the show while it was in workshop form? does anyone who he played?

On the Wicked London website, it mentions Adam in the workshops (in his credits). Stephanie did the demo tracks, didn't she?
I would LOVE to hear those some day.
Mandy Gonzalez was in the Wicked Workshop. I want her to be Elphaba on BWAY. NOW.
I'm fairly certain Menzel and Adam Garcia were Elphaba and Fiyero.
I know Colin Hanlon did a workshop...I wanna say he's Fiyero in this one. But remember there about 3-4 workshops between Summer 2000 and the SF premiere. Steph did the first one with Kristin but that's it.

Ditto.
Yow! I'm kinda surprised she HASN'T played Elphaba already.
Well, that's one thing that'd get me to see the show again.
Mandy recently was at Neil Berg's 104 Years of Broadway in Marlton, NJ and she performed a number of awesome songs (All That Jazz, A Boy Like That) but she also did The Wizard and I. It was definitely different, but good all the same. :)
I <3 Mandy. I can't wait for her return!
aww lucky Dana I would have loved to have heard that

I saw her at another Neil Berg concert and she sang Defying Gravity. She was AMAZING! I talked to her afterwards and it seemed like she was interested in playing Elphaba.
There was the list of shows from which they were going to peform songs on the poster so I knew I was going to get a Wicked song. I was pretty positive Mandy was going to be part of it...I was expecting For Good. Or Defying Gravity (I would really like to hear that!), but we got The Wizard and I. I'm not complaining though. Getting to see Mandy at all was a treat!
I used to listen to a version where I thought it was the 2001 workshop where it ended with *SPOILERS*
Elphaba and Fiyero going to the Badlands and Dillamond croaking out "...El...Pha...Ba..." and it ending there. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I was listening to a recording labeled 2001 but I don't think its the same one I used to listen to which I can no longer find. ![]()
