Well really, the only people that know if Laura's leaving Wedding Singer are the producers and Laura herself.
And if the article is to be believed, I'm glad to know Hilary had enough sense to say no.

What exactly it is.... is well, frankly, nobody's business but Laura's.
Which is why it shouldn't even be hinted at on here. Either say it or don't say it, but dear god enough with the BFF stuff.

Did I mention anything about being BFF? No.
Laura is sick. That is all you people need to know. She is legitimally sick and unable to perform. Beyond that, only Laura has to know what's wrong. If she chooses to tell family and friends, that is HER business. She didn't have to ask me to post AT ALL. But she did. Show a little class, people. The woman's got more in her pinky than you guys have as a collective whole.
Iluv, do you think it'd be better for her to leave the show?
I'd choose the girl with golden hair over any celebrity any day. I'd even chose Tina over Jessica Simpson who I think is hot. Tina rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that's why Variety implied at least three times that she's about to be fired.
Whateva.
"Yes. I do. There are a few other people who do as well. But, as there hasn't been a public announcement, it's not something I feel I'm allowed to share."
Ah, I love it. When people claim they know something then say they feel like they're not allowed to share. If you wanna keep something to yourself, fine...but then don't go ahead and advertise it.

They are looking to boost the box office! Tina is an unknown, she wouldn't keep the show open. Jessica would be a great replacement, actually they could even cast a girl who isn't as good as a singer as Simpson to sing this score.
I really hope she stays and I really hope it stays open.
Tina is good but still they need someone above that to be the lead.

Someone asked, I answered. I didn't do it to be all "I know something you don't know".
What happened to talent?
Haha! it's funny because Tina can't really sing that much. She could barely sing the songs the 4 times i saw her. She is a very talented actress though, i personally love her, but as a singer, she has a very limited talent. I don't want to argue with you Phantom2, i know how much you love her, but let's be realistic. Laura, on the other hand is a talented singer.

Guys, iluv and drunkymcwasted aren't trying to do the whole "I know but I'm not going to tell you" thing, its just that SOO many people have been bashing Laura lately, and so they probably feel the need to stick up for her because they DO know whats going on and know its pretty serious. They are simply letting people know they know whats going on because 1)people are asking if anyone knows and 2)because they're trying to emphasize the point that lauras illness is for a fact dangerous and makes her unable to perform. If they didn't say they knew what was going on, then they wouldn't be able to defend her and let everyone know that its rather serious. Yes, technically they ARE saying "I know but i'm not going to tell you", but they're not saying it in an annoying or obnoxious way! they're simply saying that they know its serious, and they know there's good reason for her to be out. that's all. end of story. Thats the only point they're trying to make, and thats the only point they should really NEED to make.
for the record, unfortunately I might have to agree that, if the illness is really going to keep her out a lot longer, I suppose it really isnt fair for her not to leave I dont WANT her to, especially before I get a chance to see her in the role, but iff thats really what she has to do to get better than its for the best. What I think would be the ideal situation is if she left for a while to get fully better and everything and either tina or someeone else (as much as I HATE to say it, stunt casting might just be the best thing for the show for now. But... PLEASE dont let it be hilary duff or jessica simpson. PLEASE. lol. Jessica actually wouldnt be terrible except come on, can she act at ALL? I really REALLY doubt she can.If they're gonna stunt cast, get someone with some talent in both acting and singing) can take over. Then, when she's fully better and ready to take on a full performance schedule, she should come back again and do it for a good while
THAT would make me soooo happy. hehe

Thank you, snl89.
Let me just add, that plenty of people on the boards have seen my interaction with Laura. So please don't try and say that I'm making things up and that I actually don't know.
muscle- I disagree with you. Tina sings the role beautifully. It's well within her range and she makes the character her own through both her acting AND singing.

LB: I broke my neck. I'm okay now. There's a little scar in the front. It's always sore. I have fused vertebrae which means I have less movement and less mobility. I was misdiagnosed initially so I have arthritis and bone spurs. I went nine months with a mistreatment. Then I finally had surgery and now I'm okay.
It was very dangerous. I could have ended up paralyzed. I was very lucky that I was never jostled on the street. It was literally at a point that if someone pushed me too hard I could have ended up paralyzed.
NR: Did you keep doing the show after you were hurt?
LB: I took off for a little bit. I did physical therapy and then I tried to go back, but I just couldn't do it.
NR: I remember you got a lot of grief by people saying that you don't show up. How did that make you feel?
LB: It was really hurtful. I had a serious injury and there was absolutely no way I could have done the show. I tried to. I tried to go back and do it but I physically couldn't. My feeling was that it was unfair to the audience. If I'm out there limping and barely able to move my head, it's a hundred dollars to see a show. That's not fair.
Then I got the surgery three weeks before the first preview of Nine. I missed some shows because I had just gotten neck surgery.

Now, PLEASE, tell me why you all bash Laura for her previous health problems? PLEASE tell.
P.S. I enjoy Tina's performance very much. But if Laura leaves, the B.O. sales will continue to plummit. Tina is not a name AT ALL. At least Laura brings in some industry people.

^omg, thats a little freaky- I JUST copied and pasted that EXACT same thing at that EXACT same time to post. lol. But yeah. Seriously guys, THAT is what you are bashing her for.
(and I remember there were a couple people who were saying "she must have just broken some bones in her back, cause she would have been parylized if she'd actually broken her neck". Um...NO. she BROKE her neck. As you can see from that interview. And YEAH. she was DAMN lucky she DIDNT get parylized. Like, unbelievably lucky)
"P.S. I enjoy Tina's performance very much. But if Laura leaves, the B.O. sales will continue to plummit. Tina is not a name AT ALL. At least Laura brings in some industry people."
If Lauren leaves of stays it won't matter I think the B.O. sales will stay the same. Lauren isn't a name to theater outsider's.
Well, let's just start throwing out potential names for people they could cast to replace Laura.
Top on my list? Kristen Bell.
I think she'd make a wonderful and adorable Julia. Plus she can sing (or at least I think she can - I thought she was precious in Reefer Madness).

^Laura's pretty big IN the theater industry though. I mean, there are very few GOOD broadway people who are known to that many outsiders i think. Heck, even idina's not mainstream-popular. haha. Tina on the other hand, although shes getting more well known, still isnt as well-known as laura in the theater world I think. I could be wrong, but I think thats pretty true
Kristen Bell would be fine, thespian, but there's no way she could do her tv show and TWS at the same time.

It's Laura! but thanks for posting that great interview

Ah, hell. I didn't even know she was on a TV show. My friend just had to inform me she's on Veronica Mars. Oops.. I obviously don't watch that.
Tina originated the role of Sophie in Mamma Mia! in the 1st National Tour, Toronto and Broadway productions. There's something to be said about that.
