Can Sondheim please write a song to replace "Little Lamb?" It brings the whole Gypsy score down from a 5/5 to a 4/5 for me. It really hurts the show.
"Donkey Pot Pie" from Shrek is still an abomination.
I think Ordinary Days has a terrible score. It thinks that it's the cleverest show ever written, but it's just horrible. Honestly, the dullest music and lyrics ever written for the theatre.
"My Nose Ain't Broken" seriously is the worst musical theatre song ever written and the scene before it is the worst scene that I've ever seen in a musical. HE SINGS THE SONG TO HIS TURTLES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
"My Nose Ain't Broken" never really bothered me. It's character specific and completely appropriate for Rocky to sing a song like that, almost as if it's some kind of ridiculous mantra he repeats to himself over and over. It's in the same class as "Paris Makes Me Horny" from Victor/Victoria which should probably be on this list too, but again it doesn't bother me because it's intentionally ludicrous as if Norma is making up the lyrics to the song on the spot, and we all know she's not very poetic.

I love Little Lamb! I think it's a perfect quiet moment for that scene.
Paris Makes Me Horney is kind of the worst but it's justification as being in character makes sense.
i think one of the worst songs written for the stage is maybe Out of the Sun from Honeymoon in Vegas. I found it offensive and I don't find many things offensive.
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
This thread is a fun read merely for people's responses and thoughts! Funny enough I actually LIKE half of them, Over the Moon from Rent is actually my favorite song from it! I know I'm crazy, but it was the first song I ever heard from it, so there's some bias there.
Also far from the worst transition song, if we were gonna choose that I'd go for Schuyler Defeated although I'm mostly just mad because the workshop version was so much better.
Gonna choose some from musicals I like:
Rent - Over the Moon
Next to Normal - It's Gonna Be Good
Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 - The Private and Intimate Life of the House
I'm aware. It's a waste of 1:10, and the worst song Lin has ever written, in my opinion. I don't think it sets up the scene well, honestly. It's such an out of character moment for Alex and Aaron, and they even place a false fact in there, followed by 'that's true' which makes, truly, no sense. This is just my opinion though!!
They/them.

I would hardly say out of character, they were both known to be very successful with women and enjoyed the attention. Lin has explained the 'that's true' as Hamilton would want people to think that it is true even if it wasn't as it is a compliment to his success with women.
Well even Ron Chernow made mistakes in his Hamilton biography. It is not exactly easy to write something 100% historically accurate about a person that lived 200 years ago, especially when there's conflicting sources, but yes anyway.
Me and my sisters used to talk about how much of skipper "Inutil" was but I've grown to really embrace the sentiments. "In Summer" and "You're Timeless to Me" are two that I have also never found as endearing as others do.
It's hard to pick from so many. Might be easier for me to pick from categories or genres. Just thought of "The Lady's Paying" from Sunset Boulevard as the most awkward-to-sit-through-because-it's-so-bad comedic "showstopper."
I guess they didn't really want to know the buzz, since they wouldn't even let Jesus get a word in until all he could even say was "Why should you want to know?"
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
