How thrilling! I didn’t know much about their career outside of Hacks (which they are fabulous in) - wiki says he was part of the Chicago company of Hamilton and performed as James Baldwin at the Vineyard in 2022. He also voiced Audrey II in a Philadelphia production of LSOH in 2014…I would love to see his theater work continue after this!

Yes. Exciting cast. Director .... no.
Goldsberry has left the production due to a scheduling conflict; Anika Noni Rose will replace her.

I am wondering now if we’ll ever see Goldsberry onstage again. It certainly just doesn’t hold a candle to that good tv/film money

Amazing cast! When was the last time we saw Margaret Colin?

Last time I recall seeing her was in THE COLUMNIST opposite John Lithgow…at the same theatre.
Re: Anika - this feels like a 1:1 exchange for me. I was excited for Renee and I’ll be just as excited for Anika.
I think Anika Noni Rose is terrific. Can't think of a straight play I've seen her in, though. Was looking forward to Goldsberry who I remember really loving in Good People about...15 years ago? Ish? But hoping Rose is terrific.
Anika Noni Rose's last three Broadway credits have been in straight plays: A Raisin in the Sun (Tony nomination), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Uncle Vanya.

She was in the 2018 revival of Carousel as Mrs. Mullen.

Proving the strength of my recall, I even saw two of those. This brain isn't what it used to be... Sigh.
Anika is such an exciting actress to watch on stage.
