Oklahoma! Attendance recently

Nov 20, 2019 — 8:44:37 AM

FWIW I caught Sasha Hutchings as Laurey this past Saturday and thought she was brilliant. I know it stinks to miss an actor you're looking forward to, but if you get Sasha it'll be a wonderful performance.

Dave Malloy's Moby Dick at A.R.T.

Nov 1, 2019 — 7:12:07 AM

I'll be coming from Chicago to see this! Shelled out for Zone A but looks like there's some dynamic pricing going on because tickets are definitely pricier now than when I purchased on Oct 3rd.

Six reviews

May 31, 2019 — 9:02:22 AM

Saw this last night, going in knowing the concept but not having listened to any of the music. I had a blast! My boyfriend also enjoyed it, if not quite as much (he has more of a classic R&H musical taste, so no surprise there). There were only a couple of moments where the pop concert atmosphere from the audience didn't work (most egregiously at the end of Howard's song). I thought the cheers added to the piece otherwise. I could really see my mother being into this. The audience was a healt...

Ghost Quartet

May 24, 2019 — 7:55:04 AM

Looks like there will also be a production at Stage 773 in Chicago in July/August. I'm not familiar with the company putting it on, but I'm looking forward to seeing it (not having had the opportunity to see the original cast). https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/theater/ct-ott-summer-theater-guide-ttd-0524-story.html

Betty Buckley out yesterday.

She was in tonight. Our lotto win put us in row S, center orchestra. Great seats for this show given the choreography.

Tootsie - Chicago tryout

Sep 22, 2018 — 9:03:23 AM

Won the lottery for Friday night - got tickets in Row D off to the left. Great view, but being directly in front of the speaker resulted in a less-than-ideal sound experience (the pit seemed over-amplified in relation to the singers, and the whole thing sounded a bit muddy). While the music didn't stick in my head, it was perfectly serviceable. Reminds me of when I saw War Paint at the Goodman - liked the show but wouldn't buy the cast recording. I also strongly agree with whoever said the op...

Harry Potter access code?

Feb 7, 2018 — 1:41:08 PM

This is beyond frustrating. Keep clicking on dates and "find tickets" only for the site to say JK, there aren't any after all! We don't need to sit together; why is the site forcing blocks of seats that are all in the same row? Guess we won't be seeing the show unless Ticketmaster gets its act together in the future. Shouldn't have to win the lotto just for the chance to purchase, and shouldn't be forced to limit yourself to a single seat in order to freaking use your lottery win!

Hamilton in Chicago mezz

Jan 23, 2018 — 1:22:44 PM

I sat in row A of the mezz, on the left but not all the way to the side, and it was a perfect view. So much better (and cheaper!) than the orchestra seats being billed as premium despite the high stage and overhang obstructions. The far sides may have some action cut off due to angles, I'm not sure.

Hadestown @ Citadel Theatre, Edmonton

oncemorewithfeeling2 said: "Sondheimite said: "Hello how do we have no reports yet"Probably because the production is in Edmonton, Alberta instead of Chicago or Boston or San Diego."Exactly. If the hockey gods had been kind enough to have the Red Wings play @ the Oilers during the run, I absolutely would have ponied up for the flight and hotel. Just couldn't justify it for only the show (sorry Edmonton).I'm excited by what I've heard of the score so far, and hope it does well!

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS Previews

edmundog2 said: "There's nothing inherently wrong with the Patchy runner, it's just that the actor playing him has no presence or charisma. He did fine in his minor roles, and he certainly has an expressive and interesting face, but he just can not command the stage the way he'd have to. Patchy should be BALLS OUT THRILLED to be at a Spongebob show, and furious at being kicked out. This guy just seemed sleepy and mopey.Loved most of the rest of it. They should definitely go back to the sweate...

Tracey Lets new play?

TheSassySam said: "I am going to be snagging a rush ticket for The Minutes when it's at Steppenwolf. Can't wait! They have quite a few shows of interest coming in." I didn't know Steppenwolf offered rush! Is it in person only, or online too? I'm trying to look ahead to next year when my RED card will expire and I have to find alternative means of getting discounted tix.

Greatest Showman soundtrack

Oct 27, 2017 — 2:10:08 PM

Not my cup of tea (way too poppy, feels like it should be a theme song for a Disney channel show) but I'm glad to see original musical films are making a comeback! These songs should be right up the alley of Pasek & Paul fans - I sent them my mom's way as she adored DEH.

Montego Glover as Angelica Schuyler?

Oct 18, 2017 — 9:27:25 AM

Yikes, I'm taking my dad to see the show in January and now I'm worried... Sucks to go from Karen Olivo to this. Granted, the original Chicago cast was excellent and would be hard to top, but if a performer is getting straight up panned you know you screwed up the casting. Even other replacements I've hated (Lexi, Seth Stewart) had some supporters.Crossing my fingers for an understudy I guess!

A View From The Bridge in Chicago

Sep 28, 2017 — 9:08:29 AM

Saw this production on Sunday and I'm still thinking about it. Thank you to ColorTheHours for recommending I go in blind; it was such a powerful experience!Though Click Here To Toggle Spoiler ContentThe very end fell a little flat to me - there was all this tension when Marco confronts Eddie and the other characters are trying to hold them off, but going from that to the football huddle while the blood rained down was pretty anti-climatic. Seemed like they were focusing on the symbolism at th...

Ghost Quartet to return off-broadway this October

Sep 20, 2017 — 12:21:34 PM

I started out at 617(!) in the queue, so not surprised that floor seating was gone for my available dates. Was going to try and fly out for a night like I did for Great Comet, but unfortunately that's out of the question.Hoping Seattle tickets go on sale soon - any word on why they aren't available yet??

BCEFA FLEA MARKET COLLECTORS UNITE!!

Sep 20, 2017 — 8:42:30 AM

I really (really really really really) would like a pair of the chandelier earrings... If I don't get accepted into the Facebook group in time to find someone to buy for me, if anyone is willing to buy & ship to Chicago I'd be eternally grateful. I'm not made of money alas, but would definitely throw a couple extra bucks your way on top of the earrings price and shipping.
