"Con Edison said that its records showed that “the work of the building’s PLUMBER " failed two inspections, including the inspection our personnel conducted yesterday afternoon.”
They did, however, find fault with the PLUMBER'S work, determining that sufficient space had not been left for the new meter, Con Edison officials said."
And so on. What would you call it, animal error?
I wouldn't want to be any of those who caused this tragedy, having to live with it on my mind.
Helen Mirren continues to be amazing. She went to the Stage Restaurant today (located on 2nd ave, across from explosion site. apparently it's one of her favorite places and she wanted to go make sure it was ok. <3
I don't know why you think Helen Mirren is amazing for going to make sure her favorite restaurant is still there. How about going and giving money to those who have nothing now that their buildings are not still there? wtf. And Mirren saying she knew it would happen? double wtf
Anyway, what makes me sick is the fact that we're all sitting ducks for the behavior of other people. Any one of us could be a passenger on a train with a conductor who is too busy on his phone to do his job. How many of those conductors have caused tragic accidents and caused death to many people. How about all those who drive while talking and texting? How many accidents and deaths have they caused? How about some people in the medical profession who misread dosages or are busy on the phone or copy incorrect numbers, etc.
Now we have inept plumbers and a corrupt landlady who caused this tragedy.
We h ave to be lucky in this life to survive others' mistakes and poor decisions. Makes me sick.
um she was supporting an old East Village restaurant by going there and just to get there she would have had to pass police barriers. take the stick out of your butthole.
why don't you go down to the East Village tomorrow and support the businesses that are able to be open. Bet you won't. Helen Mirren found time WHILE performing as the lead of a Broadway show. Your life sounds miserable.
i was down there yesterday, were you? I guess not, because you would know the police are having a hard enough time keeping people away from the area. At this point, they do not need anyone supporting businesses which are roped off, and CLOSED, fool.
My life sounds miserable? You'd be lucky if you had a life the least bit like mine.
This is what I heard on the radio news this morning- the landlady told the tenants that if they have a problem with gas, don't call 911 nor Con ED, but to call her. It seems that there was something rigged up where gas was syphoning off her line into the apartments. Something to that effect. In any case, she was corrupt. People suffered for her fail.
They are wary about letting people near to the site because there is a possibility that building adjacent to the explosion suffered structural damage and could be subject to collapse. They are going to have engineers down there inspecting the standing buildings with a fine toothed comb!
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
Oh, just shut the fvck up. The same can be said about 99% of your asinine posts. Don't like it? Don't LOOK at it. Hell, start another thread about a show you hate.
In calling them assholes, Sutton is in fact much much better than people who think that an incredibly horrible tragedy is entertaining and deserves a group photo. Much, much better.
Early this morning I heard the following on the radio - Drea de Mateo of Sopranos fame had an apt. in 123 2nd ave for around 20 years. The date of the young man who was killed in the explosion was blown into the street, has a broken nose, and of course, was dazed and confused. There was the scheme by the contractors and landlord to syphon off gas into the apartments. It was disconnected when Con Ed came, and reconnected afterwards, as a rule. Homicide charges could be pending. Just fyi.
