The year in Broadway history they needed tourist awareness the most, is the one where they have been shunned.
And then wonder why the box office plummets.
This should’ve been on CBS for all to see…….seriously…..

Loving that there’s no commercials and the show is moving along briskly.

Loved seeing Ruthie. Is she appearing in anything now or coming up? I’m a little behind on things.
Is Stars in the House getting a special award?
The performances are on CBS starting at 9pm, Im so sorry for all those who don't get to see this though. This year should have been MORE accessible than ever before instead of LESS. The industry needs it so badly. What a complete screw up by....well I have no idea who made this call.
So was Danny’s speech good? I would have loved to witness that moment live and cheer him on from my living room, but alas.
Yes streaming has not affected the high quality of the production.

Mr. Wormwood said: "Was the lyric change in You Can't Stop the Beat new for tonight or has that been a change in productions for awhile? Changing "don't know white from black" to something about being both white & black, I can't remember exactly how it was phrased."
I think it was changed for the most recent production in London. I remember Marisha Wallace posting about it a few months back.
The musical selections reflect the moment.
I’m loving Audra as the host. She truly is the queen of Broadway and such a great spokesperson for the community. And her personal connections really make a huge difference (her crying at Danny’s win was so sweet). It’s such a nice change.

Oh, there are commercials. Nice performance of What I Did For Love by Ali Stroker.
Updated On: 9/26/21 at 07:29 PMWell damn…. I assumed you’d be able to start this whenever and be able to pause but apparently not. I just turned it on and couldn’t start from the beginning. I always start awards shows about 30-40 minutes in to be able to skip commercials and overly long boring speeches. Hopefully they’ll keep the broadcast up to watch the first 25 minutes after the fact…

These kind of tweets are exactly why I despise theater twitter and it’s mob performative allyship *rolleyes* …..
“kathryn gallagher was robbed **** that cis b***h lauren patten i don’t even like her voice”
“F*CK YOU LAUREN PATTEN. YOU DONT F*CKING DESERVE THIS OR JAGGED! I ASSURE YOU ANYONE ELSE IN THE THEATER SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE AWARD INSTEAD OF YOU!”
I added the censoring btw!

I am sure they will.
This is smoother than the Emmy awards.

Interesting way to do the design nominees.
It looks great, the production value is very high. This will be on demand afterwards.

Ugh so the creative team awards still get shafted, even on this platform?
Were those folks not invited or….?

Absolutely well deserved for Danny Burstein! He was also amazing in Fiddler On The Roof and My Fair Lady. Many congrats!
I got Paramount Plus for The Good Fight and Big Brother feeds but I might keep it since some of the fall programming looks good notably Mayor of Kingstown.
