Bat BOy (UK)
The 'good half' of Carrie
La Cava
Witches of Eastwick
Our House
(Does the UK production of Taboo count? It played for over 18 months, but I'm not sure whether it made any money back?)

Hasn't this thread been run into the ground before? I'll bite, though.

Taboo (of course)
Suessical
Scarlet Pimpernell
Passion is not a flop!
It ran 280 performance AND made a profit!
It had hardly any set, just fancy backgrounds, and was cheap to run, so it made it's money back.
My favourites:
Caroline, or Change
Anyone Can Whistle
Baby
Merrily We Roll Along
Pacific Overtures
Mack and Mabel
Seussical
Jane Eyre
FUN CITY by Joan Rivers
MOLLY starring Kaye Ballard
THE SECRET AFFAIRS OF MILDRED WILDE starred Maureen Stapleton with Doris Roberts
and the divine...........70 GIRLS 70........(if you do not have the cd of this fabulous Kander and Ebb show, you are missing a treasure.)
Too many to name:
Amour
Caroline, or Change
Side Show
Parade
Mack and Mabel
Merrily We Roll Along
Ballroom
The Last 5 Years
My Life With Albertine
Steel Pier
I've left out so many...
#1 Carrie - missed it
#2 Side Show - saw it and loved it!
#3 Metro - saw it twice!
...but most recent favorite is Taboo! Best pop score since Carrie!
I saw METRO in London in 1988 I think. It was elaborate and loud and stuff........I don't remember it very well. But it was a hot ticket in London at the time.
Caroline, Or Change. It was an amazing theatrical experience.
It was pretty wild, and the whole cast was from Poland and very difficult to understand. The energy was fantastic and they tried SO hard I could not resist the cast. Not a bad score either...nominated for a Tony.
Cant believe that I left off Merrily...was at opening nite!
But I guess all of Sondheim's shows would be on my list as they all lost money ;( and are all faves.
A Class Act
Amour
Saturday Night
THe Color Purple
Happy Birthday
Raisin
...just to name a few
SIDE SHOW
BAJOUR
INNER CITY
Mack and Mabel
Taboo
Hollywood Arms
"The Color Purple"
I'm Curious. How can a show that is technically still in development and workshops be considered a flop?
Anywho, My fav would be Caroline, or Change. Soon may it be revived.
