No WELL but RABBIT HOLE? Please.

A mediocre, water-treading Lifetime movie about grief vs. a witty, heartfelt, paean to the true mysteries of parent-child bonds. Ridiculous. And I'm usually the one who bitches about the kitchen sink dramas being overlooked.

Amy Spanger's snub is insulting. She is phenomenol and such a nice person.

Maria Friedman and Michael Ball. They each deserved a nomination.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the snub for Choreography for Jersey Boys, since it did well in so many other categories. There's NO surprise about the sweep for Drowsy. That's just the type of musical "they" would want to exhalt.

Sweeney not getting technical nods suprised me. The set, and the lighting are both great.

Ana was awful compared to everyone else.

Great voice though. Not so much with the acting.

See, I loved Ana. She, Nellie, and Jim were the best things about 3PO.

I agree with you on Jim.

I also enjoyed Nellie.

As much as I love Jersey Boys, I am not too surprised that it didn't get a nod for choreography. And I don't mean to be a downer, but even if it did, I think it would have a little-to-no chance of winning it.

Arghh! Grammar pet peeve #1: your vs you're. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. "You're" is the contraction of "you are." <<

The choreography is nothing to get all jazzed about in JB. Not surprised by any means.

Well Kaboodles, if *that's* the criteria, than most of those nomination slots would be BLANK.

"Julia Roberts! She got such great reviews. Just kidding :)"

LOL!

I'm really sad John Slattery didn't get a nod for Rabbit Hole but there was a lot of competition this year. He is just as talented though. :) I'm just happy that Tyne and Cynthia were nominated as well as getting Best Play!! re: Tony Snub Gripe Thread

I realize Featured Actress in a Play is a tough one this year, but I still believe Dearbhla Molloy deserved her second nod for TOUCH OF THE POET.

But as we all know, Tony has a very short memory.

I think best actress in a musical is a 3-way race: Patti, Kelli, LaChanze. I think Kelli has a real shot at it, actually. Don't forget, this is the "crown the new diva" award. And, Kelli's put in her dues, I think.

Really Touchme? How so? How has O'hara paid her dues in comparison to someone like LaChanze? I disagree.

I'm disappointed that Jill Clayburgh's return to Broadway after a twenty-something year absence wasn't recognized. She opened in not one, but two shows this season. I'm not saying she did such oustanding work, just that I would like to have seen her included.

No Antony Sher for Primo? That is one of the most surprising snubs in years.

Well, aside from a good turn in Once on This Island, what else has LaScreamz done well?

Don't say Company. Or Ragtime.

And Ragtime.

Can someone explain something for me? Inishmore is my favorite show, obviously. But I just do not understand how History Boys got a Tony nod for Set Design and Inishmore did not.

I thought "The Boys" set was extremely minimal so I would enjoy reading another perspective.

Thanks.

Tho it does happen that people are rewarded for just being around a long time, the Tony, especially, should go to the most deserving. Patti deserves it for the best performance of the year by an actress in a musical. Period.
