A New Argentina. Patti was crazy good in that performance.

Another vote for "A New Argentina" with Patti LuPone. That's the number that introduced me to the genius of "Evita" and of Patti, herself.

Lillias White, Sharon Wilkins and the cast of "The Life" singing "My Body Is My Business!"

It was thrilling! I went to this show four times!

One performance that sent chills up my spine was in 2004 when Tonya Pinkins sang Lot's Wife from Caroline or Change, I knew nothing about the show, but that song was enough to get me interested and really learn more about the show.

Dreamgirls - It's All Over/And I am Telling You

Oh my goodness that performance gives me chills everytime I see it. Bernadette's "Rose's Turn" is also really high on the list.

Does anyone have a video of Hairspray's performance? I've never been able to find it. I search atleast once every week for it on YouTube (I'm on there a lot--so that's not all that often for me). lol

RENT's Tony performance seemed under rehearsed and sloppy.

WICKED was horrendous.

I like Brian Stokes Mitchell's vocals on the song "The Impossible Dream", but his acting was lacking. Totally miscast.

The best:

The "One Night Only" opening number w/ Hugh Jackman
The 1997 "On Broadway" opening number w/ Rosie O'Donnell
DREAMGIRLS
THE WILD PARTY
TITANIC
CABARET
FOSSE
SWING
CONTACT
CAROLINE, OR CHANGE
GYPSY
JERSEY BOYS
THE LIFE

AITYING is number one. They did the whole scene.

My second favorite is "Turkey Lurkey Time" from Promises Promises. Donna, Baayork and Margo.

Why are people obsessed with high belting? I don't understand.

I love all styles of singing, including belting. But I must say Patti is just WOW in that performance. It has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Definitely one of the best.

Because it's incredibly difficult to do, and when someone does it well, it's impressive...

I have to throw out Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner's "I Will Never Leave You" from SIDE SHOW as well.

"I have to throw out Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner's "I Will Never Leave You" from SIDE SHOW as well."

When they screwed up the intro?

I love them both, especially in Sideshow, but that was a strange performance.

One of my other favorites messed up... my Judy Kuhn, who did double duty in 1988 for Les Miz and Rags, tripped during the Rags number when it got away from her.

Oh, and I had forgotten all about the Judy Kuhn incident!

Such a shame, as I love both shows, these performers and those numbers...but it's gotta be tough to throw the number back together after the show's been closed awhile...which was the problem in these cases, I suspect.
