Terrible group choreography, poor singing all around, especially from the men. highlight was Laura Osnes' legs.
it's really bad when you sing "we'll always be together" and form a cheesy kickline-sort-of-thing. Really, Marshall, dignity?
Wasn't as embarassing as it could have been, though.

I actually kind of enjoyed it...I've heard horrible things about the show, but THIS performance alone...I liked it

I have had no interest in seeing it, and now...even less, sadly. I know this shouldn't matter, and may not be the sets of the show, but those pink and baby blue lockers were just sooo cheesy. It seems so sexless, and slick to me. But the performers weren't bad...just not much chemistry.
Very cheap looking.
Mmm, like I said before it looks like a bad high school production.
90% at the box office. Where did we go right?
Shame on Kathleen Marshall for the poor poor choreography and overall direction. I would expect so much more from her. What a lazy route to take.
well laura osnes looked hot as hell so that upgraded the number for me but good god that was awful.

Were those two numbers as performed in the show? It was bewilderingly bad.
It says a lot that they made a very specific decision to focus on the ensemble and not the two leads.
I would have expected any other show to feature at least "Summer Lovin'" or "You're the One That I Want" instead of that awful theme song.
Bad choices, among many others.
Personally I enjoyed it! I thought it was fun - the performers had to keep pushing open that one door that was closing on them - that was kinda distracting. Other than that, i liked it!

They had to do the title song to let the public know, "We're really doing a stage version of the MOVIE here!"

Those numbers are not as they are in the show.
The Tony performance was 50x better than anything onstage at the Brooks Atkinson.

I would've preferred to see that, although I understand they wanted to showcase the cast's energy and not make it just about the two leads.
I liked it?
The Guy playing Danny is not o.k.
Again, 90% business. Wow.

They should've done something else than what they did. They probably just should've done Summer Nights, but I will agree that it was better than hearing Taylor Hicks singing Beauty School Dropout.
I only want to see Grease for Laura Osnes. I think she's got a great voice and is probably a good actress, but I have no interest in seeing Crumm or Hicks. When I look at Max, I don't think Danny Zuko, I think more like Doody or even Eugene.
i totally agree with you worrell.
dont go see it because of laura osnes even though i love her too her fellow girls on stage with her are spectactular, sry dont want to name them all because dont want to forget one.
wish they let allison be an u/s for danny or i want to see her as marty too.
the guys standout are ryan binder and brian sears when i saw him as roger. jose as sonny is great.

I thought it was fun, but the music in the show is different and so is the choreography.
I like Grease!!
"wish they let allison be an u/s for danny"
Yeah, they should let Allison understudy Danny. That would be fun
awww what a cute onstage pair that would be laura and allison.
but they do have great chemistry in the cheerleading scenes.
You know, its interesting, because I thought the title number was the ONLY strong number when I saw it...
sorry i meant allison u/s sandy, i was too excited to eat japanese food tonight. i liked the opening number the girls sounded wonderful and the guys sounded great but i always knew laura and max were not in that number in the show.
I liked their performance!
