So many of us here on the board were hoping that "Every Little Step" would have received a Best Documentary Oscar nomination this morning. But, it didn't happen.

Me sad.

That is too bad, but I'm just happy that the film was made.

You're all kidding, right?

Next to the incredible documentaries nominated, EVERY LITTLE STEP looks like a cheesy Bravo channel reality competition series.

It was cheesy at times, but the more historical parts of the film were unique and wonderful and perhaps it should have gotten a nod.

It's a really strong category this year, and with the list that has been chosen,it didn't stand a chance.

It doesn't carry the 'import' that the ones nominated do, but it is the one I own I was hoping 'Every Little Step' would have been nominated this morning...

Much as I LOVE A Chorus Line, the documentary was too tilted towards the revival. Had they done more historical discussion, and interviewed more of the OBC, it might have stood a better chance.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it, but know the reviews were kinda tepid, and it does seem to have a slightly-better-than-BravoTV vibe to it.

(Specifically, both "The Cove" and "Food Inc" were amazing AND important, in ways that a Broadway-revival doc could scarcely approach.)

I really liked it when I saw it. But I love Bravo, so.

I'm with BrodyFosse123. In recent years there have been much better docos about Broadway, SHOWBIZ and the GOLDEN YEARS being two that come to mind. EVERY LITTLE STEP was more like a publicity blurb for the revival.

Tyce Diorio deserved a nomination for his BRILLIANT performance as a delusional queen.

Oh, wait...
