Okay, so this is totally one of those "Which one should I see?!" thread. I am seeing 3 shows. I've picked Hair, and my Aunt would like to see Million Dollar Quartet (which I'd prefer not to see) and I am stuck between American Idiot and Next to Normal. What do you guys think? Thanks!
2011: In The Heights Tour 1/16/11, The Color Purple Tour 2/11/11, West Side Story Tour 3/18/11
Both are great shows I'd see both if u can Idiot & Next to Normal Hair is amazing 2 If u can't see both I'd see N2n tho first b/c Ripley is leaving 7-18

If you're looking for something more along the lines of an energetic rock concert, see IDIOT. If you want to see an exceptionally well-crafted and deeply moving show, see N2N.
I would go with NEXT TO NORMAL, American Idiot was good but for a good, moving show go to N2N
For those who thought NEXT TO NORMAL wouldn't have a life outside Broadway, well it's now playing in 4 cities, 9 different countries and has been translated into 6 languages.
I did a 4 show day well 3 one wasn't Broadway but it was theatre in itself I did: Idiot at 2 Bloody Bloody at 5 Fela at 8 & Rocky Horror(the movie) at Midnight Best day ever I love multiable show days
Both are wonderful, depends what you're in the mood for. American Idiot was relevant, thought provoking, and an experience. The lights, the sound, the choreography...it was in your face and I personally walked out of the theatre going "what just happened?!"....I saw it two weeks ago and I'm still processing. I loved every second. Next to Normal was moving, and had wonderfully developed characters, a story arc and fantastic music. There wasn't a dry eye in the house, which is something I haven't really experienced before. The acting is superb and the story is beyond moving.
You can't go wrong with either choice. Both are unique experiences! Have fun!
