Yeah it's about the movie, it just says they're starting to film in the spring and how casting depends on Universal, and how he believes in Kenny Ortega.... no mas.

but can we use this thread to speculate casting.....

I've heard rumors that what's her name, efron's fake girlfriend really wants to play Nina...

I would love for Sara Ramirez to play Daniela :)

I wouldn't want Justin to play Benny but the role could potentially make sense as long as the person isn't Latino.

I'm hoping Karen will because... One. She's amazing
and Two: She and Lin had great chemistry
and if they get a star to play Nina and/or Benny and Daniella then I think it's entirely plausible.

I really want Selena Gomez to play Carla. She can sing that, and she'd be hilarious. Also, I totally agree with the idea of Naya Rivera as Vanessa!

If filming is possibly to start in the spring, and if offers really are beginning to be made for roles(Selena Gomez), how soon do you think it will be before we get any sort of official announcements?

Soon, I hope. Rock Of Ages seems to already have started rolling. Pre-production started, and Shankman mentioned last week that offers and meetings with actors have started. Filming for that is starting (hopefully) in March.

I'd imagine In The Heights is similar. Unless the closing of the show throws a wrench in things.

Maybe not the closing postponing things just Lin's coming back to the show takes away movie time.
