No, it's not that at all. Many of us who been members a lot longer than 3 months know a great deal about each other. And none of those people have posted in this thread probably because we save private information for FB or PMs.

Perhaps you don't realize how widely read this public board is.

Plus, this is an OT topic. And several of those people you refer to have shared far greater barometers about who they are by expressing opinions about a variety of socail, political, religious, and personal issues on the OT board. Including Jordan.

I would never give away too much personal information about myself online for fear of being tracked down and hacked to pieces. I've probably inadvertently revealed too much as it is. Plus, I'm really not that interesting. That said...I don't exactly have a career yet, but would love one day to be working professionally in the theatre business.

And it's caustic posts like Jordan's (and others) that keep me coming back here!

Jay L-Z, no one is asking you to reveal anything that makes you uncomfortable. You shared your career dream and that's great. Wishing you much joy, adventure and discovery working in theater.

And no one said Jordan isn't "caustic," just oddly selective in what he shares on this board.

I'm not sure what there was in Tazber's post to engender so much hostility. I thought he was actually being helpful in explaining why some regular posters might not be volunteering information here.

Oh yeah, he was being so helpful. I can't imagine why calling me a "hater" would generate any hostility on my part.

and tazber, it seems you don't read your own posts. It was you who made an issue about the length of my membership -- a sort of my member-ship is bigger than yours kinda thing. Updated On: 6/17/11 at 09:52 AM

Oh, Egg. I take it you're upset that I haven't answered this question in this thread and for some reason you're offended I didn't list the first Broadway show I ever saw in your other thread. That could be that, oh I don't know, I'VE ANSWERED THOSE QUESTIONS A HUNDRED TIMES BEFORE YOU ASKED THEM. It may surprise you but threads like "What's the first show you ever saw?!?!" aren't new around here. Every newbie starts it and sometimes I'll chime in and say that the first show I saw was ****** *** *** *****. (You want to know so bad, figure it out. Or do a search, it shouldn't be hard) As for commenting on people in THIS thread, the only person I commented on was Lizzie and it was far from being anything rude or unkind. Lizzie is Broadwayworld's grammar nazi (not my words) and I always assumed she was a teacher because of it.

Do you reeeeally want to know what I do? I mean, is it that important to you that I answer this question in this thread? Will you just die of antici-

pation if I don't tell you?

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

Jordan has been pretty consistently not revealing much about himself here for years. If people choose to do so- I know I am fairly hesitant about it, myself- and put that information out there, then, frankly, it's fair game to be commented upon. The internet isn't a tit-for-tat info exchange.

As for me, well, Broadway actors pay me to read these boards and report back to them any gossip, rumors, or opinions about them. That's right. I'm the "dresser that was reading the board" or the "swing who was killing time".

I'm not one to reveal personal things about myself online, no matter how harmless the details may seem. I'll just say that my professionl has nothing whatsoever to do with the theatre, nor the entertainment business in general.
