Is anyone else surprised that Book of Mormon is going into the Forrest? While Once, a show that would benefit from being in a more intimate space, is going into the barn Academy of Music?
I'm a little surprised that it's not trying to sell out the Academy, but given it's playing the Eugene O'Neil on Broadway, it's not hard to understand they'd like to take the smaller option in Philadelphia as well. In most cases when shows come to the Philadelphia area, the major hitters (Wicked, Les Mis, etc) play the Academy, while smaller tours (Jersey Boys, Little Women, etc) play the Merriam or Forrest.
I saw the Spring Awakening and In the Heights national tours at the Academy and it just was so odd seeing these fairly intimate shows swallowed up by the endless barn of the Academy. I believe this is the first time - at least in my recent memory - where a hot property musical tour isn't playing the Academy.

WOW! I'd love for POTTED POTTER to make its way to Houston.
Also, I know The Alley's production of THE MOUNTAINTOP had its eyes on working its way back to NYC and being performed in other cities, so I wonder if this is one of its stops...
