I was actually sad to see Kelly go. She looked a mess on the runway, but she was far and away more entertaining than a few of the other queens this season. I can't deal with Gia. At all.
I'm curious as to know what happened to all the sponsors. There is no Interior Illusions lounge. There are no Absolut cocktails. There is no AlAndChuck.travel. This was one of the few shows where I wasn't bothered by the product placement because it seemed organic to the show.
Really? Nothing seemed more phony than how they worked in the product placement to me. Especially during All Stars, it was pretty atrocious. Save for Al & Chuck, which I think is still a sponsor as they're still going the Drag Race cruise this year.
Please check and change your panties. I think you may have added a little to much Milk in your coffee today?
And I don't care what anyone says I LOVE GIA! She is fierce and she knows it. Sad that she probably won't go super far this season. Had she been in Season 4 she would have stolen the crown...so many lackluster queens on that season. Laganja seems really fake and overproduced to me though? I smell a producer favorite.
There are moments where Gia is funny and I think she's super attractive out of drag, looking like Japanese actor Kei Hosogai if he got a lot of work done, but then she says something so F*CKing stupid that I lose all interest. "Absolutely." "Feeling like Pussy, feeling like Cunt. Feeling like Pussy, feeling like Cunt." "The three Cs. Crazy. CooCoo. Cunt."
Gia is just grating to listen to. It's funny she said she was "tilapia"- a cheap and trashy fish.
Adore is a hot mess who's in way over her head. She got a pass this time. I doubt she'll get another.
Laganja was trying hard. So hard. So very, very hard.
Out of those 7, Ben was far and away the best- her runway look was on point, followed closely by April Carrion. I think it's also telling that those two got relatively few cutaways (especially Ben).
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
Gia's personality will wear thin very quickly (as will Laganja's) but she is hands down the most beautiful queen in the first group in my opinion. And she's definitely in the top in terms of who's attractive out of drag, right behind Magnolia. For what it's worth
I cannot wait to see more from Bianca and Darienne. Joslyn seems sweet and I'm sure she'll make me smile. I've heard Trinity can turn out a look and Magnolia seems pretty quirky.
Adore has a huge online fan base because of his appearance on American Idol. If you actually watched how the viewers choice votes on Facebook went down on Season 4 and Season 5, he won the first round handily. Like, almost a two to one margin over the queens who "won" the vote in the secret ballot for the second round. If there was only one round of voting, he would have been on Season 4.
I just got all the uncensored seasons on DVD in the mail the other day from Amazon and I'm starting with season 4 which I will always love. If Adore had been on that one, he would have gone first and maybe given The Princess a little more of a shot at sticking around for a while.
I'm not liking De La Creme as much as I thought I would. She seems too charactery for me. I anticipate her little gasps, ooh dears and aahs with that look of perpetual surprise as being a little too much for me if she maintains it over the long haul. I DO think that she deserved the win on this challenge though.
I found Adore to be cute as a button, both in and out of drag. And she was funny and sassy. Looking at pics of her online I like her style. She's got the edge of Sharon Needles without being so costumey...more of a crazy, colorful, punk look.
Vivacious doesn't do anything for me. Both of her outfits were too wrong.
I liked April. I think she did really well with the Duck Dynasty theme. And I think she's got a beautiful girl face.
Kelly Mantle (nephew of Mickey Mantle FYI) needed to go. This is the outfit you pick to make your grand entrance into a competition? Really? Why not just wear your mother's housecoat and slippers cause that would have shown more effort.
Not feeling LaGange yet. Her looks were a little too awkward for me. Every season someone does that giant collar and it never looks good, especially when it's the same color as your wig which is long and blending into it.
Gia looked good. I don't mind her chatter too much. But if they're playing it up now, you know it'll probably be the ruin of her on the show.
There's enough variety in type/style/personality to make it an interesting season at any rate. Can't wait for Ru's second big opening!
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.
"given The Princess a little more of a shot at sticking around for a while"
I get a little upset every time I think about The Princess's short time on Drag Race. Season 4 had so many queens that should have been given another shot: LaShawun, Madame, The Princess..Willam!! (I know someone had to go but..)
For people still sad about Alaska & Sharon's break up it's great to see them still as friends. Here they are singing 'I Will Always Love You' on Valentine's Day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGLoH7tT5Iw
I'd love to be able to post photos but I can't seem to get the hang of it.
Also, getting a little tired of queens who talk the talk but really can not walk the walk - Vivacious. First that asinine head thing... okay, I thought, well maybe she's going to be very different. Could be fun. But then she comes down the runway looking like a reject from the Old French Whore skit from SNL.
Anyone else notice there won't be a tour this season. Just $$$$ and make up
