With the BC/EFA Broadway Flea Market and Grand Auction just one month away, I would love to hear what everyone is hoping to find amongst the tables and who everyone is hoping to meet at the Autograph Table / Photo Booth!
When exactly do we find out who is doing the autograph table? I'm guessing in 1-2 weeks?
"The city seen from the Queensboro Bridge is always the city seen for the first time, in its first wild promise of all the mystery and the beauty in the world." - F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Probably around 2 weeks or so. But it's not official until you actually SEE them sitting at the table. Every year, there's always 3 or 4 people who back out the day before or the day of and a lot of times you don't even know that until you get up to the table and don't see them there.
Jordan, Ihave actually had a recurring dream of meeting Angela at the photo booth. It would be amazing. Also, in addition to people not showing up, I have had people sitting in front of me who had not previously been announced. Its a nice surprise.
I remember last year I had brought my Young Frankenstein poster for Sutton to sign and I discovered on the way there that she suddenly had to cancel because of a family emergency. But it was a great supersize when Andrea Martin showed up unannounced, so on the bright side the poster did get signed by someone! As for stuff I'm looking for:
- Heathers Show Jacket (I know for a fact they were made and I hope someone donated theirs). - Violet Cast Signed Playbill and/or window card - Cheap Playbills (for trading and me) - Cheap Window Cards - Show Jackets in General - Anything That Catches My Eye
I'm really not picky at the flea market. I like a wide range of shows and if the price is right and I want it enough I will buy it. Plus you never know what you could find. Every year I find something unexpected.
As for people I would love to meet my #1 is Betty Buckley. I want her to sign my Carrie poster SO bad! Lol.
Do shows that recently close usually have tables? I'm hoping to get some Rocky, Heathers, Newsies & Bullets things... I'm just wondering because it's usually the cast or crew or production teams manning the tables...
I've gotten stuff from shows that had been closed for awhile, so there will most likely be stuff from the recent ones.
I hope to find more show cups. And I'm not sure what else.

^ I think it really depends. Last year there was very little Merch from shows that closed. I was looking everywhere for Drood stuff but there was none to be found.
So when they have t shirts and caps they are from current shows? This will be my first time going. I am only interested in the end of the day cheap crap. That is why I assumed it would be cheap, because the shows have closed.
You'll likely find stuff from all current shows, shows that have recently closed and shows from the past few seasons. At the end of the day though (and speaking from experience), the only shirts that are left are generally the smallest sizes you could imagine. If you're looking for Mediums, Larges or even XL's, you'll be out of luck.
Thanks for the tip, Jordan. I'm far from a small. In your experience, what is the typical price for a closed or older show, mid-day, for caps or t shirts.
I mostly look for props and other rare items. Last year, I bought almost everything that the Matilda table sold as most of it was props and hand-made items. This year I am looking for some Bridges Merch and some souvenir programs from closed shows that I saw like Rocky.
Can someone refresh my memory, do shows collect at the theater during this time or are they just at the flea market? When do they collect in theaters? Major brain fart moment!
I look for OCR cds...last year I got twelve. Some current show, some recently closed and some closed for a while. The cds are usually of the promotional variety or have cracked jewel cases so weren't good to sell at the theater. Last year I got a promo cd of Kinky Boots for $2.
And I got a great Wicked ladies shirt at some table for $5. In a large.
