So they have officially brought this costume to the broadway production to replace the lime green one at the end of act 1?
I havent seen the Broadway version in a while, but noticed this costume when I saw London last year.
Has any other Mme. Moribles used this costume yet on broadway?

Morrible: How many times do we have to go through this? Witchin' does not put food on the table. Witchin' does not pay the bills. Witchin' is no guarantee to a future. even if you have got talent. Elphie. If you want to win in life. then keep your nose in them books and out of the clouds. Elphie. I know how you feel. Really. I do. But there are a lot of talented people right down there on the streets... witchin' their "shoulda-coulda-woulda's." - Now. Is that how you want to end up?"

This is her entrance costume in Act 1 - there have been variations based on actress playing it, but the color and basic pattern is close to what this costume has always been. The end of Act 1 costume is still same lime green costume. Or at least was 3 months ago.

Deena Morrible....wish I had seen Judy Kaye- I bet she was great...I'm sure Sheryl will bring some sass to the role.
If anyone can link to her Defying Gravity speech, let me know please!

Check her Instagram. She has the same maroon and gold entrance outfit as every Morrible before, this is for Emerald City Act 1, replacing the lime green one.
Damn, but she's reminted the role, from the look of this. It's great to see Morrible a little sexier. Why not? We'll think she and the Wizard have some magic of their own.

I CONCUR. I didn't even know that was her until just now, I'm outright cackling over here!! Anyone who doesn't understand it can leave and go watch themselves that brilliant film...
If somebody doesn't get her on camera doing that at stage door, I'mma be so pissed.
I made a return visit to Oz last night! First of all, it is worth noting that this show has held up incredibly well over its 13 year run. It shows no sign of aging or looking tired as so many long-running shows do. Now, onto what everyone is probably wondering about - Sheryl Lee Ralph. WOW. I have seen Wicked countless times, and I have never seen an actress play Madame Morrible with such feistiness and fierceness. She chews the set up and down, eats it, spits it out, then does it all over again a few times over the course of the evening, and it WORKS! This is a role I have always really wanted to see an actress sink her teeth into and just have fun with it, and that is exactly what Sheryl Lee Ralph does. She's over the top, hilarious, and just outright hysterical and some points. If there was a ever a time to go back and revisit Wicked, this is it!
