I feel bad for this show. I'll be interested to see what the reviews have to say. Maybe if saw it, I'd love it (I've been fully booked so I don't even have the option of going until mid-December) but I guess I'm part of the problem because I keep forgetting that this show even exists.

It did worse than The Encounter.

all save one, but a bridge to Brooklyn cannot get you to the Bronx.

Totally unrelated to the thread but this quote is brilliant, been using it non stop all week, it's surprising how many situations it's perfect for.

I'm afraid I don't understand it...context?

I mean, of course taking a bridge to Brooklyn wouldn't put you in the Bronx. It says so right there?

I saw the show last night and I thought it was so much better than I was expecting!

The entire cast was really in sync which I think is SUPER important for a show like this.

I'll be really sad if this show closes

It means you may have a resource but it's useless.

I think that's what Cialis is for. (Oooof!)

What a great way to spend your New Year's Day, being unemployed. I feel sorry for everyone involved, but it was a risky venture. They should get a standing ovation just for trying.

That's really sad. I have a few friends who saw it and thought it was really cute and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I guess it just couldn't attract a crowd

I saw the show last weekend and it just wasn't for me. The book is pretty dire and I found myself making no connections with the characters. The cast is selling it as best as they can (and they're trying), but t never rises enough to even fall flat.  It never gets up.

I had comped tickets, as did many people around me. Sadly, I personally do not know anyone who bought a full priced ticket to the show. The rumor about a notice going up Monday is reasonable. The cast is very talented and I'd like to see all of them onstage again soon, just not in this show.

It is not now, nor has it ever been, a Broadway show. Yet another case of tyros wasting money.

you are confusing a show inhabiting a Broadway theatre with a Broadway show.

In order to occupy a Broadway theatre don't you have to be a Broadway show?

Hogan, you're being unnecessarily esoteric here. In Transit is a Broadway show. A good one? A commercially viable one? Debatable. But it's Broadway.

@Jorge No. every season there are non-Broadway tenants on Broadway. Bon Jovi inhabited a Broadway theatre recently to do a concert. That, of course, is not what I meant.

@Concierge Yes, of course it is in the sense you mean. That's not the sense I was using. I was referring to its characterization as something that belonged on Broadway. It doesn't and didn't, as every competent producer told the show's producers when approached.

When the f*** did Bon Jovi "recently" inhabit a Broadway theater?????????

Oh, you mean the entity itself doesn't deserve to be associated with the honorific "Broadway" title itself. Understood, I thought you were speaking more objectively. To that note, did you mean to say Frankie Valli instead of Bon Jovi...?

Frankie Valli too!

And there are many many others, without even getting into things like The Illusionists.

Who made you the God of Broadway? I'm not sure the producers of In Transit give a sh*t whether you think it deserves Broadway status or not. It's on Broadway. Done deal.

And yet we often have this conversation of whether or not something "belongs" on Broadway .   lighten up.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

But it only makes sense to have a conversation about whether something "belongs" on Broadway before it takes a Broadway house. In Transit, whether you enjoyed it or not, is literally about to have its Broadway opening night in a Broadway theatre. It's a Broadway show—maybe not deservedly so, but... it is.
