I got to see this production when it played in London. I had a great time with it, but if it’s any consolation, the production isn’t anything you can’t get from a solid regional production of the show. Still, sorry to hear this didn’t pan out.
I saw Victoria Bussert's (original, more stripped-down) staging in Cleveland in 2017 and was riveted from start to finish. It was the second time it was presented at PlayhouseSquare, where the show had its world premiere in 2012.
There was quite a bit of buzz in Cleveland earlier this year when the Off-Broadway run was announced. I was excited for New York to be able to experience this show, especially since it was set to feature Shannon O'Boyle and Ciara Renee, who both appeared in the 2012 world premiere in Cleveland.
So sorry to hear this isn't happening.
"I'm seeing the LuPone in Key West later this week. I'm hoping for great vocals and some sort of insane breakdown..." - BenjaminNicholas2
I had the plan to bus up to New York City just to go see this. I found the show by accident and fell in love with it instantly, and I've been looking to see it live for a while. Oh well, things do happen, and here's to hoping some kind of professional production will happen! With how well SIX is doing (a show that's definitely inspired by Lizzie), I expect to see some more amateur productions being done.
