Unlikely that it would be eligible in any competitive Tony categories. It's a special theatrical event, so could go the way of Springsteen (a special award) if they REALLY want to honor it.
Makes sense. My first thought when this was announced off-Broadway was that it was preparing for a Broadway run. After hearing the run time I thought they were "throwing it all out there" to decide what to cut and trim the show down for its Broadway run. I did not get to see it but I hope to see it on Broadway.
