What's the role you would most want to play if you ever got a chance?
My pick is Cathy from The Last Five Years. Aside from the music being oh so incredible and its being wonderful in the vocal complexity area, she's just a very dynamic character in reverse. How much she changes because of this relationship. In correct sequence, she goes from being ambitious and hopeful to depressive and self-pitying. Love the change. Love the music. Love JRB.

PS --> No one said that in the role you pick you have to be kick-ass. LoL.
We've had quite a few of these threads, but this is different because its only one role! Oye- if I had to pick one, I'd say Billy Lawlor. To be able to do what that character does on stage every night would be unbelievable. And some of the people I have seen play that role are big Broadway inspirations, and it would be an honor to play that role, especially on Broadway. Please god, let that show run for another 5 or 6 years!

Peter in Peter Pan (musical version)
It was the first show I ever saw and I was in awe of the whole experience and I knew instantly that I was supposed to be an actor. The orle has been been played by a male in just about every major theatre market except in the U.S.
My dream role would have to be Fanny Bryce in Funny Girl. I love that show, and I would absolutely love to be able to play her one day!
My dream role would have to be Christine Daae!! =-D
I just love POTO!!

Rose from "Gyspy". To play Rose, you need to be really very talented and that's what I want to be when I get older, so Rose would be the perfect character for me!

If I weren't so vocally untrained and dead wrong for the part, and so physically nothing at all resembling type for a part that isn't typecast, I'd love to play Freddie Trumper in Chess. Why? Just to thunder onstage singing "What a Scene!" or play in some of the great moments he gets ("So You Got What You Want," "You Wanna Lose Your Only Friend?," "No Contest")...but I'll always have the shower.

It would also be nice to play Fanny Brice from Funny Girl. She has some great songs to sing!

I would love to be cast as Reno in "Anything Goes", Miss Dorothy in "Thoroughly Modern Millie", Elphaba in "Wicked", or Cathy in "The Last 5 Years".
Quite bizarrely (and perhaps pathetically) though, my dream role has always been the un-pivotal role of Ursula in "Bye Bye Birdie".
Maureen in RENT. She's been my dream role since I was 10.
My other dream role is Elphaba in Wicked.

If I hadn't already been both Eponine and Cosette in Les Mis, I would say them.
Hmm.. Sarah from the Newsies. Ok, so it isn't really broadway, but it's the NEWISES!
Mama Rose in Gypsy. I identify with her probably more than I'd care to admit. We share a driving ambition and a lot of the same insecurities. She's an amazing character, with so many different levels to her, it could never get boring. I also feel that the lives of "some people" are dreadfully dull and ultimately unproductive. I think it's a wonderful acting role, which is where my first strengths lie.

I'm going to go with Eponine in Les Mis. For now that is I tend to roate between Eponine and Penny Pingleton based on my mood...
I really don't think I can decide between Millie and Elphaba!
