....due to illness. go figure, you'd think they'd have understudies or something.
hmmm.

Of course they have understudies- it's the rule on Broadway. But if they're sick, too...
I think by illness...they mean the effect on the audience.
Could be wrong.

Hmm, that's interesting.
How is this possible? All the understudies can't be sick at once.
That is the odddest thing I've heard. Hmmm. I'd be interested in hearing what the deal is.
Will there be an evening performance or was last nights show their last?
Ouch....
But ya never know.

Just the matinee? So someone is too ill to perform this afternoon, but will have recovered sufficiently to perform in 5 hours?
That's so strange. When was it announced that it was cancelled?
Margo, it's a rare disease. They have Brooklyn in their blood.
Maybe they all got a case of the runs from something they ate. I certainly got a case of wanting to run from something I viewed on the stage the night I saw it...
ETA: I swear my sig quote had nothing to do with this post, whatsoever. LOL
LOL, Trisky. :)
The "official" word is that both Ramona and her understudy are ill.
Matt, that literally made me laugh outloud. :)

They better get a transfusion ASAP -- Brooklyn in the blood can be fatal (as well as very nauseating).
Aren't there swings or stand-bys or something? It seems odd to cancel an entire show for one (or two) people.
Btw, Trisky, I love your signature. I'm a big Jeff Buckley fan.

Several years ago I attended a matinee of TRHE GOODBYE GIRL. Bernadette Peters was ill and it was announced her understudy, Betsy Joslyn would go on in her place. Several minutes into the first act, it became obvious that Ms Joslyn was not well. She was missing notes in her songs and just looked "sick". After intermission, it was announced that the "Swing", Nancy Hess would play the second act. She gave a brilliant performance, but was substantially shorter than Ms Joslyn, causing Martin Short to remark: "My how different you look--and shorter". This got a huge audience response because Josyln was wearing Hess' gown and it was way too long on her!
I believe Ramona's u/s is sick..
I hope they'll get better soon!!
We <3 Ramona and Haneefah!!
Yes but are there no swings to take over?
If you look at the BKLYN website:
http://www.brooklynthemusical.com/thecast.htm
Some of BKLYN's u/s are swings too.. But they don't have
a swing for Paradice..
(example: JULIE REIBER (Swing/US Brooklyn, Faith)
Oh, well that was smart.
Um...I think it would be wise if they hired one.
They probably realized that it doesn't really matter - there would have only been about 7 people in the audience, and they probably just felt like going shopping or something.
This show needs to close, now.
shouldn't the swing have been able to go on....after all that is her job to cover for multiple roles
ETA: of course just my luck by the time i pull up the info to post this 4 others did already
