The Encores production of Apple Tree was brilliant tonight. It was brilliant because of a tiny little passionate package called Chenoweth. What else would you expect from her. Her vocal abilities (especially out of Wicked) are incredible. She has such range from an opera soprano to a broadway belt. The woman is a miracle. She is magnificent in every sense of the word. Apple Tree (even in nose bleed seats) was a treasure. Thanks for the passion, Cheno.
"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."
So great to see Cheno back in Encores where she belongs. Her comedic talent, acting skills and incredible voice are a joy to watch. And she is that funny in real life and a sweet person. Chenoweth is gifted. SHUQ- (You mean my Kate? I have friends in high places)
PS ShuQ- She has my smile!

I really enjoy Ms. Chenoweth. Her voice is great, she seems like a lovely person, but I'd like her try to play a different kind of character. She always seems to play the same role, over and over again. I agree, her voice is amazing, but her acting...not so much.
I'm sooo upset I missed this...but there was absolutely no way I could make time for a trip to New York this weekend
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH!

I really wish I could've seen this. I hate being stuck up in the mountains! I adore Kristin, she is everything a performer should be. I wish PBS had taped it. *sigh*
Corine-You can't get into Spamalot? I've gotten in three times buying my ticket either the same day or a couple days in advance. And they were pretty good seats, too. You must see Sara, you MUST!

Saw the Sat. matinee of this (from nosebleed seats) and La Cheno is just spectacular. Very few actors have the charisma and electricity to reach the very last rows of the theatre. Hugh Jackman has it, and so does Kristin.
She had me in the palm of her hands- from her delicate Eve (she had me crying at the end) to the lovable chimney sweep and Passionella. I was waiting for some special high notes, and they delivered in the song "Gorgeous."
Any idea if this was recorded? I'd love to have all this Kristin on cd.
Wow, I'm glad to hear all the love for Cheno, especially since people loving her and alternately hating her seems to come and go in waves on this board. It's an all-positive Cheno thread. Wow.
And...I'm totally jealous of all of you who got to see it. Chenoweth, Cerveris....too much awesomeness.
Saw it Sat. night and Loved it!! Love her! She is so funny and has such timing and strength. I was thrilled to see her perform as always. Plus Malcom Gets--used to watch Caroline in the City, always thought he was cute!
