OK, I've said on this thread and the other related threads that I didn't want "Charity" to close...they say you gotta be careful of what you wish for, don't they? There are 1000000 million great actresses on Broadway, and they are going to put Melanie Griffith to star in one of the best triple-threat roles in musical theater, that's just fascinating.

ray, the only reason for this casing is represented in the song in your Avatar.
"Smart! And into all those exotic mystiques -- The Kama Sutra and Chinese techniques. I hear she knows more than seventy-five. Call me tomorrow if you're still alive!"
I don't understand why they would pick somebody so old to play a part that like this, especially when they are succeeding someone who is much younger than they are.
The age is not an issue, I'm just disappointed at the actress choice.

When Brooke Shields was announced for Ruth. The HATE was everywhere. people were so pissed - everyone was expecting her to fail because her previous 2 Broadway ventures weren't so hot. And look she proved everyone wrong - giving a stunning performance.
I'm not so sure Griffith could do that, but it IS possible. But this hasn't even been officially announced, so who knows what may happen.

Melanie is a terrible performer...i saw her in Chicago....but she sell tickets and even though there are about a million actresses who actually have talent. Melanie is a big Hollywood star. I think it's gonna be hilarious to go see her...she was so funny trying to dance and sing when she did her Broadway debut.

I think it's somewhere between a rumor and an offical announcement. But still, please, it's Melannie Griffith! Does she even know how to read let alone read music?

The choosing was not...
