I am not happy with any of this.
Wow, Haylie Duff helped out Hairspray attendence quite a bit. Can't say I'm surprised but still. I now see the effects of stunt casting.
how can practically every show be going up and be play to great capacity and Sweeney be doing so poorly??

Tourists don't want to see Sweeney.
Do I have wishful thinking to hope Sweeney Todd will be open next summer so I can see it?
Most tourists who know anything about the show thinks its about a guy killing people and a woman making pies. Obviously thats not what it is but that just doesn't attract tourists, which is so unfortunate because it is a great show!
I will be shocked if it lasts the rest of the year, let alone makes it to next summer...
Ya WithoutATrace is right, see it as soon as you can!

Next summer?
HIGHLY doubtful.
Frankly I can't imagine it running past December (it could never make through the winter months when the tourists aren't here).
That's a bummer. I can't get to New York until next summer.
I actually see Sweeney closing once Patti & Michael's contracts end(which is Thanksgiving week).

Is it really doing that bad?
More than 300K sounds good to me?
Poor Sweeney...it's a shame they have one of the more inhospitable rush ticket policies (at almost 40 bucks a ticket, which I can't afford right now). Otherwise I'd be there right away. Why are their rush tickets $10 more than most other rush tickets?

Cause Frankel is a greedy son of a gun...
If Sweeney lowered their rush by ten bucks and expanded it to all performances it might provide a slight boost, which would be great, but I don't think it would be that significant.

Heh, but I'd expect these kinds of price-jacking shenanigans from the pennypinchers at Really Useful...
Anyway, I wish Sweeney the best but it's all over I'm afraid.

Actually, on their website it said rush tickets were 35 dollars.
Sweeney Todd Ticket Rush Prices
Eh, $35 becomes $36.25, and $36.25 is as good as $40 to a poor student such as myself.
I'm glad I get to see Sweeney next month, poor thing, I wish it was doing better financially during these summer months.
I saw Sweeney twice in standing room at $26.25. But good luck finding a day when the show is sold out nowadays.
I wasn't in love with Sweeney like a lot of people, but I still enjoyed it for what it was. That said, the last thing I would ever want to do during the ridiculously hot summer months is go inside and see some dark depressing show that commands full attention. I need something light and diverting, no matter how much talent is on the stage.

I saw shows all this week except for Tuesday and Sunday. Somehow, I feel I've made a difference.
Hah.
i can see what you are saying WheelsofaDream I always thought that this was more of a show that I would go to during the fall or winter. I know that sounds really stupid but maybe in the summer you're just in a mood for more light easy going stuff a la Wedding Singer. That being said though I would see this any season but it just seems more fall/winter...
Ouch! A 14% drop for DRS! Hopefully they can recover this week.
