I think I'm going to go with Xanadu. I thought that was great and I really wasn't expecting it to turn out well.

I don't know what my worst was...Maybe a Catered Affair (but i dont know if that's really fair because catered affiar, little mermaid and young frankenstein had awkwardly short performances). I was a little let down that the highly built up RENT performance was more of an inspirational talk than a musical performance but it was still good i guess.

Gypsy was handsdown my fave. And as for worst Im going to have to go for cry-baby. I couldnt put my finger on it but it just didnt seem to flow or something...and the fact that it maybe isnt that good didnt help either =]

Best: GYPSY

Worst: GREASE

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I didn't think any of the performances were bad. Some better than some, but none of them were horrible. My favorite to be honest was Xanadu. My least favorite was Passing Strange... then Little Mermaid... I'm just tired of hearing "Part of Your World".

Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).

The best performance was Xanadu, without a doubt, followed by Gypsy.

The worst performance was either that Grease debacle or Faith Prince's off-pitch screeching.

Gypsy (standing ovation for Patti!) and Xanadu were the best performances!

Grease was atrocious, I really didn't like Cry Baby, I didn't "get" rent's or Passing Strange's performances. Little Mermaid, A Catered Affair and Young Frankenstein were all a mess!

Best: Gypsy had me in tears by the end, as did Sunday in the Park With George

Worst: Grease, tied with The Little Mermaid/A Catered Affair/Young Frankenstein. Grease looked like a BAD high school production. The others just proved why they weren't nominated in the first place.

From Best to Worst:

Xanadu
In The Heights
Sunday In The Park
Gypsy
South Pacific
Cry Baby
Passing Strange
Grease
"Other 3 Medley" (though I did enjoy Megan)

They did a much much better job at honoring Jonathan Larson at the Easter Bonnett Competition for BC/EFA

And The Lion King is, well, The Lion King

Best: Gypsy, followed by In the Heights and (though I don't like it much) South Pacific

Worst: The Lion King. Is it supposed to sound like that? Either there were sound problems or the vocals for that show are INCREDIBLY grating.

Gypsy was phenomenal.

I love PS, but "Keys" should never be edited for time. It didn't represent the show very well. I think maybe even the performance on The View was better, which is unfortunate.

were there sound issues going on during certain parts of the show? i think at the end of "in the heights" all i could hear was mainly lin manuel's mic and the lion king sounded kind of strange too.

Best: Xanadu and Gypsy.

Worst: I'm sorry...Passing Strange. I love the CD, but that was quite possibly the worst choice for them. It was Stew screaming. No good.

Agreed about Passing Strange. I've heard such great things about the show, but that performance would have done nothing to entice me to see it.

Favorites:

Patti's "Everything's Coming Up Roses"
Lin & Co.'s In The Heights numbers
The Rent reunion, esp. "Seasons Of Love"

Least Favorites:
the screeching from Stew & Co. (no surprise there; headache inducing)
And Faith Prince (very surprising - she was really dreadful IMO)

Least Favorite: Grease and Rent. I really expected a little more from Rent for some reason.

The numbers from Xanadu, Gypsy, and The Lion King will probably sell tickets.

The Sunday... number, while lovely won't sell a single ticket. Ditto for the South Pacific number (not that it needs to worry...its 6 awards will make up for it).

The ITH number, which I loved in the theater, didn't work at all on television. Not sure why.
