hi i am 36 years old is that to old to be an actor.
The late Dennis Letts didn't start acting professionally until his late 50s and recently made his Broadway debut in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. He gave a wonderful performance. Unfortunately he passed away months later. But it is never too late to begin.
There are plenty of actors who are over 36 and are doing wonderfully within the theatre community. Best of luck to you!

Wow, I thought Bryan was 12.
One thing to remember, make sure you stipulate that there MUST be a cast recording made for any show you're in.
...like Brooke Shields.
I just find it funny that Chard-onay is bleeped but blow job isn't! LOL!

Many GOOD actors start out in their mid to late thirties...they've lived more,..they've experienced more...and can translate that well onto stage or screen, as well as truly feel more empowered by the 'time is running out' way of thinking which can propel them to do such amazing work.
Morgan Freeman is one of them.
for acting..you are never too old.
uta says it takes 70 years to become a great actor...you have lived a life that no one else has lived....
so....go for it!

Can you still give a good blow-job?
Have you firsthand knowledge he could previously?

You can start a career at 36- look at Barry Elway, he started at 26 and look where he is now!
"The late Dennis Letts didn't start acting professionally until his late 50s and recently made his Broadway debut in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY."
Kind of a funny example, and NOT to put down Dennis Letts' talent, but Theatre2 if you have a son who writes a Pulitzer prize winning play and puts you in the part for your Broadway debut -- then no it's not too late to be an actor.
Hell, I'm 40-(makes coughing noise to cover-up other number) and am trying to make it as an actor.
So, as long as we're never up for the same part, no, 36 years old is not too late.

John Mahoney started acting professionally at 40. He was a teacher before that.
What are you waiting for?
Nobody's gonna show you how
Why work for someone else
To do what you can do right now?
Got no boundaries and no limits
If there's excitement, put me in it
If it's against the law, arrest me
If you can handle it, undress me!
Don't stop me now, don't need to catch my breath
I can go on and on and on!
When the lights go down and there's no one left
I can go on and on and on!!!!!
Give it 2 me, Yeah
No one's gonna show me HOW!
Give it 2 me, Yeah
NO ONE'S GONNA STOP ME NOW!!!!!
They say that a good thing never lasts
And then it has to fall
Those are the the people THAT DID NOT
AMOUNT MUCH AT ALL!
Give me the bassline and I'LL SHAKE IT!
Give me a record and I'LL BREAK IT!
There's no beginning and no ending
GIVE ME A CHANCE TO GO AND I WILL TAKE IT!
Don't stop me now, don't need to catch my breath
I can go on and on and on!!!
When the lights go down and there's no one left
I can go on and on and on!

Did he mean too old to BE an actor or too old to START as an actor?

Jaystarr...
I can't believe that you didn't credit that song....
those words are by Madonna from the song 'Give It To Me'
from the album 'HARD CANDY'
He did say that it was Madonna. I'm sure anyone who cared for further info is capable of sticking "Madonna" and a snippet or two of lyric through Google.

back on topic - are you male or female? if male, 36 can still be "a beginner"
if female, at 27, potential agents will ask "well what the hell have you been doing all your life?"
