I'm going to name my children after all the main characters in Assassins. Or Mindy the Puppet.

My last name is Wood, and many times people accidentally add an extra 's' at the end. I have often thought about naming my daughter Elle. I am dead serious. Good or bad decision?

You know, my sister loves that name, but she (and I) don't really care much for Sutton Foster, and she's the person who always comes to mind when I hear the name-- because honestly, who else is named Sutton? It's so cute, though. It sounds like 'Button.'

Hey, you think your kids will be mocked? My favourite boys' names are Nigel, Calvin, and Julian! I don't think I'll ever get away with that, though...

Once I had a dream that I gave birth to a son named Triton. This would never happen in real life, but I do LOOOVE Norm Lewis.

And, coincidentally, I like the name Gavin too.

Well, I'm determined all of my kids will be named after either a Beatles song or a Broadway character/actor.

So, the Beatles names are:
Sadie, Lucy and Michelle for the girls.
Jude, Maxwell, Daniel and Edgar for the boys.

As for Broadway names for my girls...

Arielle (Footloose)
Vivienne (legally Blonde)
Sophie (Mama Mia)
Sally (Cabaret)
Anna (Spring Awakening)
Julia (The Wedding Singer)
Nessa (Wicked - possibly VAnessa, possibly not?)

For the boys...

Mark (RENT, Altar Boys? lol)
Edgar (Bat Boy, also from my Beatles list)
Jack (Into the Woods)
Jamie (Last 5 Years)
Seymour (Little Shop)
Melchior (Spring Awakening - it's a stretch but I really do like it)
Hunter ([title of show] and Hunter Parrish <333 jk lol)

some names i like and just HAPPEN to be theatre references. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, too...

And for one final name related story. My friend's cousin's roomate is named: La-a. How does one pronounce La-a you may ask... Not (Lah-AH) but rather (Lah-DASH-ah).

Thank you, goodnight.

Fun survey!

Daughter: Mei Li (Flower Drum Song)
Son: Melchior (Spring Awakening)
Dog: I was thinking of "Bamatabois" or "Bam" for short.
Cat: Liat or Cable

I always liked the name Sutton, too.

Nessarose is pretty. I have a friend who wanted a golden retriever just to name it Galinda - regardless of its gender.

This thread is hilarious! Seriously though, when I did "She Loves Me" in high school (I played Georg), that was when I knew I was going to be a professional actor when I grew up. I've long since had the idea of naming my daughter Amalia (the name of the lead female character for those of you who don't know the show), and call her Molly for short. I'd like a boy and a girl. The boy would probably get a normal name though, LOL.

Baritone, I've long wanted to name my daughter Amalia! It's one of my favorite shows. That's so random that I logged onto this thread to post the same thing two minutes after you did. Small world. And here I was thinking that I was so creative! haha

I'm seriously thinking of having a boy named Gershwin. Is that an awful first name? I think it's kind of cool. re: What Broadway-Related Names Would You Give Your Children?

I have thought about this too much considering I don't even want the little buggers, but if I ever have a son he's gonna be named Raul Julian. I love the play on Raul Julia's name. Only he would be called "Jude", which is really a tribute to Paul McCartney and The Beatles.
