That's all it would take. W is a very emotional man, he got all teary when he met Laci Peterson's mother and he said "Don't you start crying or I'll cry, I was crying last week talkin to an Iraqi lady who was so grateful we're over there."
I just know if we could get him and Congress to see Brokeback, it would be an answer to all our prayers.
You know something. By George, I think you are right! I think this could indeed be the path toward equality! We should petition the President and Congress and the Supreme Court and even Alito to watch a screening of this film.
or
I think it would be funny to watch Shrubya squirm during the sex scenes.
Hmmmm. What WAS I trying to say in my previous post? I forget. Aw hell! BOTH!

Somewhere Tommy Davidson is yelling, "I was supposed to be Jamie Foxx."
You guys, I seriously think we all have to do our best to get BM to the $33M mark this weekend. Because it looks good for all of us if the movie takes in the big bucks.
So here's what I suggest. When going to see a movie this weekend, pick a megaplex that has BM starting around the same time as the movie you want to see, say, Hostel. When you get to the box office say, "One ticket to Ang Lee's incredibly brave BM, please." Take your ticket and go buy a snack at the concession stand, and then go into the theater showing Hostel. And that way BM totally gets the credit! WOOO!
I tried it last night but it turned out BM wasn't even playing there and the guy at the box office laughed at me. Do you guys think that counts as a hate crime?
Jay Leno announced last night -- to Jake G of course -- that it's the Number One Date Movie in America. Straight Eyes on the Queer Guys. Lots of 'em. To my admittedly bourgeois thinking, that's progress.
But if you bitchy backlash queens wanna show off some "real" fun lovin' homos, send your families to THE PRODUCERS. Bart and Beach can fabulize their way into their hearts, and we'll all be happy.
It's a big tent in which everybody gets l--d:
Stud-buds, spit, sweat n'sheep, or sequins, sequitors, sibilant s's and sissies.

"bitchy backlash queens" has a fab-u-lous ring to it, I must say!
"Incredibly brave BM" has quite a ring, too. (Wasn't that said about Katie Couric?)
You can see that OTHER gay movie RENT for a dollar down the street. And how about those numbers for The Producers? "The No.16 Date Movie in America!"

Indeed it was!

It also works with Brokeback backlash queens.

Be careful or they're gonna
lump you in with all the
Brokeback backlash queens
Irene Dunne is butcher than Jake and Heath combined.
To those of you who prefer the glittery boys, I have to admit, I'd pay to hear Roger Bart intone (eyes looking "mountainward"):
"I can NOT quit you, Queen!"

And somehow, miraculously, make it sibilant!
Everytime I go to Loews to buy a ticket it is sold out.
I will try again today.

I prefer the aliteration....bitchy brokebacklash bandits because "bandits" fits the western milieu.
Also because the super-critical are overtly stealing strength from the gay rights cause everytime they plublicly make negative comment against this film.
Remember, in this PC age negative comments are not allowed because someone somewhere will be offended. Isn't that how it works?

Please keep BM comments on the BM thread.
The cartoon reminds me of what I saw on FOX News today at the gym. Their "coverage" of the Golden Globes preparations began with the smug reporter saying...
"...Here on the LEFT COAST, while the gift bag packing continued and last minute gown decisions were made ... the big question remains: will the LIBERAL AGENDA dominate among this year's Globes winners..."
Then we got clips, of course.
The "liberal agenda" is carried forward by, apparently, George Clooney (loathed by Fox), for incorporating real footage as he dares to remind us about the excesses of McCarthyism -- when patriot Anne Coulter has already set us straight about what a great American ol Joe really was -- and of course poor BROKEBACK, the new tabula rasa on which one can project anything. That great fair and balanced big tent, Fox clearly thinks the mere presence of a homosexuality in a mainstream film constitutes "agenda."
Haven't seen the movie yet, planning on it this week, will buy it when it comes out on DVD also. Heath and Jake playing gay lovers, I can die happy now. :)
